Some Flyers fan at my work after learning about Crosby's extension: "Good luck keeping Malkin, he's going to want the same exact contract!"

I'm assuming "internally getting ready" is code for "teaching the PA announcer how to not laugh while notifying the crowd that Luongo's been pulled"

I support any transaction that results in Luongo making it to TD Garden more often each season.

putting them at ~$62m, with Backlund still needing to be re-signed. and wasn't the talk earlier that they were going to be like a ~$55m team this year or something? which means...Bouwmeester for picks/prospects or a forward, to give them?:

F: Iginla, Cammelleri, Cervenka, Tanguay, Stajan, Glencross, Stempniak, Comeau, Backlund, Baertschi, Bouma, Jones, Jackman
D: Wideman, Giordano, Babchuk, Sarich, Butler, Smith, Brodie
G: Kiprusoff, Karlsson

that's a $57.5m team, minus whatever bonuses Cervenka and others won't hit.

(keeping Bouwmeester makes them a $64-65m team, minus bonuses that won't be reached)

Plan the ****ing parade.

The Sarich, Stempniak and Comeau resignings are all massive failures in talent evaluation, but that shouldn't surprise anyone.

And aoFrantic, you did what I wish I could do and jumped ship. So to me, you are dead.

actually i think the sarich stempniak and comeau deals are all good. where do the flames have young players challenging any of these guys for spots on the team? nowhere. can they do better on the free agent market? no.

the sarich one is the only one i think is meh. the wingers, though? can you find me 3 UFA RWs who shoot right handed and who've scored 20 goals in a season?

The Schultz discussion (or non discussion) is hilarious to me. Can you imagine if he was Russian? We'd probably put more nukes in Turkey

lol yeah the schultz thing is so ridiculous, will be glad it's over and when he disappoints for a canadian team and they spend all of HNiC wondering what's wrong with him

How stupid are we about hockey?

Mika Zibanejad is getting KILLED for his play. In a scrimmage. In June. In a development camp.

This is after a season where he suffered two concussions.

Even Paul McLean called him it out after the scrimmage.

L.O.L. Canada.
