He had a very up and down season in the KHL with Spartak when he came back. The overall numbers were okay - 2.48 GAA and .915 sv% over 46 games - but they definitely need to be taken worth a grain of salt considering the quality of the league. And he didn't play anywhere last year.

He'll be 48 in January. I just don't believe this is a real possibility.

Hasek should play for the Philadelphia Flyers. Maybe then they'd have a real goalie!!

well, at least he's doing it on a day between games...

what was it that happened on a SCF gameday in the past? can't think of it right now, but i recall once or twice huge, upstaging news going down (and stuff that could have certainly happened sooner, or waited until after it was over), and the league not being real impressed.

if it's retirement, and deezy certainly makes a good point that way, i guess it's all out press for Suter now, whenever free agency starts. cause i mean after him, it's like Carle, Stuart (who they also might need to replace), Jackman, Wideman, and the list starts to get pretty thin...

Agreed. Thought he was sure to come back with the Winter Classic in town, but he's had a hell of a run. Hard to believe he's been on that blue line my entire life. Gonna be a big adjustment.

This of course would now indicate that Detroit is going to throw the farm at Suter. I'd be stunned if he doesn't end up there.

Aaron Ward and a few other news outlets reporting that he is Indeed retiring tomorrow.

Very sad, grew up watching the man dominate and is by far my favorite wing of all time

Don't worry Wings fans. I'm sure Nick Lidstrom will probably score 7 goals vs Vesa Toskala, Johnny Bower, George Armstrong, Darryl Sittler and the boys in the alumni game.
