I didn't realize that Burns' cap hit is almost $6 mil. starting next year.

Burns has been fine, imo.

I'd like to see Clowe next year injury free, but there's no guarantee of that. Boyle was also fine after his foot healed. Unless someone wants to overpay for Clowe, I think Marleau is probably the best top-6 forward to move, value-wise.

dont forget bertz and abdelkaders -5 each

I really hope they let Hudler go. That **** eating grin he had at the start of the 3rd period then not getting back to cover Legwand really cost us. Just one of the many wings breakdowns throughout the series. Looked like the guy was starting a 3rd period in oct. Think Mickey commented on how happy Hudler looked. Im assuming it was because he knew he was about to start his summer vacation in 20 mins.

1. Don't see it happening, nor do I think it should really.
2. Yeah, this either, though I wouldn't mind (but can we get equal value back)
2a. I really don't see this happening
3. I really like Winnik, but I also wanted Ian White resigned last year and they failed to do that
4. Hmm..

Oh and hai guize!

Ill probably make a longer post one i look at contracts and cap room, $tat$, look at trade scenarios, FA's etc.

Initial thoughts though... The only disasters I think would be not retaining Wilson, Couture, and Thornton (for a reasonable price). Feel the same way somewhat about retaining boyle, unless we would somehow get one of those big fa defensemen, but i don't know how feasible that really is.

Every player you named is already under contract for two more years

The disappointing flameouts we're seeing in this first round make me hopeful that the trade market will be juicier than expected around and after the draft.

Geddy, what will you give us for Marleau? I'm sure a good ole' Aneroid boy would love to play for the Flames, yeah?

Would he waive his NMC to go to Calgary?

That's kinda what I'm asking. But I'm sure the answer is no. He's got a family in SJ and all that jazz.

Pretty sure we're stuck with him for 2 more years.

i'd say clowe is the forward most likely to be dealt

So what's the deal with American defensemen? Just two years ago, this is the group we trotted out to the Olympics:

Tim Gleason
Erik Johnson
Jack Johnson
Brooks Orpik
Brian Rafalski
Ryan Suter
Ryan Whitney

Is there anyone on that list you feel confident in throwing out there in 2014 besides Suter? Who replaces them? Shattenkirk/Yandle/Carlson are probably likely...what about The Wiz? Goligoski? McBain? Other guys?
