Yeah, I would prefer 6/19 for 90 yards as my team's future.

He doesn't play defense in the 4th quarter.

Bitter than you were wrong about Eli taking that next step toward becoming an elite QB in this league after the first 2 games this season? Fact is regardless of how bad Ben played last night he is still better than Eli Manning who you argued so adamantly for around Week 2 or 3 this season.

If MOV was smaller there would be more upsets.

Edit: Also obv Mangenius and Rob Ryan who have been with the Browns forever have tons of extra Steelers info that they have been saving up.

Saw them once already this season and Bruce Arians on a short week is guaranteed to have a terrible, predictable gameplan.

But Pittsburgh has also seen them once this year.

I will say that since teams have realized that it's a smart idea to keep Ben in the pocket, he's struggled to adjust at times to extend plays. Obv. that was his edge over the other two QBs. However, the QB contain has been irrelavent whenever quick pass plays have been called. If you watched last night, not enough were called and Ben got killed.

It'll be interesting going forward in his career if he can become aware that he has nowhere to go and get the ball out. In the past the "holds the ball too long" argument was mostly accounting for sacks when Ben scrambled to the outside but got caught.

Or you know...plays could be called more than twice a game where a back chips a DL and then settles into a short zone as a safety valve. When Cleveland is running that defense with 2 deep practically every play and sending 5-6 there aren't enough guys to cover a back out of the backfield.

You really think on a short week teams are going through all of the tape from the previous 12 games? I can tell you that they aren't. However, when you play a team once in Week 6 and then in Week 14 they have had time to thoroughly go through each game at some point this season.

agdci---the inside information guy

they wouldn't need to go through weeks 1-13, they already have the notes from 1-6 so they would go 7-13, so yeah, they DO go through each game. And I wouldn't be surprised if they do watch every game.

But obviously you know all so...

And how did they get those notes? Because they already studied those games thoroughly in the beginning of the season. Sure, teams have scouts that make notes leading up to games on games that the coaches may not watch or study but these guys are scouts making way less than these coaches for a reason.

I am, basically, just explaining to you what I meant in the post you responded to in which you basically just restated my points. I said teams playing each other twice a year were better able to study their opponent because they could watch half the season at one point and half at another, getting ample time to thoroughly study at each point. You basically seemed to agree with me and I was just expanding on my original thought.

so the fact that the browns also had a short week should be ignored? or the fact that they are the browns?

Nope but Arians on a short week against a team that knows his simple, obvious gameplanning = offensive disaster, which we saw last night.

It should increase the better team's COACHING edge which we saw last night. Cleveland has probably been gameplanning for this game for weeks now as this was basically their Super Bowl (primetime game against biggest rival). It showed as they shut down the Steelers offense through their schemes more than talent.

Yes, I do but a few more games like last night and I will probably be changing my mind fairly quickly.

Ben has a higher YPA, higher Comp. % despite having far fewer playmakers around him for the majority of his career.
