Everything sucked about today but I still think Ben > Eli by a fair margin. This has been a bad season for Ben and it seems his season has still been a bit better than Eli's.

Before today Roethlisberger was significantly better in DYAR and DVOA. In the more standard stuff, his QB rating is higher, he's averaging about half a yard more per attempt and 29 more yards per game than Eli and his completion percentage is about 8% higher. They both have 11 INTs, Eli has 1 more TD (20 - 19). The obvious downside for Ben is that he has been sacked 28 more times than Eli which is about 2 more per game. That's all including tonight's game which wasn't good.

This seems to be how their careers have gone. Ben's had some great season where he's crushed Eli and in the down years he's merely a bit better. I don't see how that makes them equal, even if this is one of the down years. He certainly could drop off significantly given all the hits but as of now I don't see the argument for neither being better than the other. Obviously they aren't as good as Rivers but that would have been true if Ben had put up 500 yards and 4 TDs today.

When will you people realize that Ben is average at best. His stats are way inflated by his refusal to ever throw the ball away.

This is sadly accurate since I hate SD and Rivers, the guy is a douche and has the throwing style of a girl, but he just does the job right every single time, and if I had to choose one to carry my team he would be a clear choice. Maybe if I had to play the game with a horrible offensive line and as a dog, I might take Ben in a role the dice effort. And for Eli, he only has to focus on "laces out"
