I don't know that we can say Wilson has regressed tho.

His comp % is down 2.9 to 61.4 but other than that it's very similar unless I'm missing something?

Gotcha. 3 of his starting O-line have been out two straight weeks which is something to keep in mind.

what we now know:
Luck

WIMson

Tannehill
Kaep

with rg3 as a big question mark, right now he's even worse than kaep, but maybe he heals

This can't be right, I was assured by the smartest football mind OAT that he was the most difficult QB to sack in the history of football

What stats do you care about for QB's? Obviously a lot of noise and questionable use for each one, but he's pretty clearly regressed.

In Advanced Passing stats on PFR he is worse in basically every single one. Worse ny/a+, worse ay/a+, worse any/a+ worse cmp%+, worse td%+, worse int%+, worse sack%+, worse rate+.

Also, his sack rate is 10.6%.

edit: Sample size is obviously also a realistic explanation, but he's definitely been worse, maybe not regressed.

Well, he's also played through 4 of the 7 toughest games on the schedule in the first 5 weeks, three and a half of the first 5 without his pro bowl LT, and two of the first five with just shambles on the OL. The Seahawks will probably be favored in their next six in a row, and only @Cards is the defense all that worrisome. Hopefully Unger and Breno will be back for that one.

his sack% increasing has little to do with Russ regressing and a lot to do with his best 3 O-linemen being injured.

also, 60% of his 2013 games to date have been at 10am. that traditionally hurts a west coast team's performance.

As I said, it might just be a sample size issue.

But narratives aside, he's clearly been worse. The entire explanation could be extenuating circumstances. But wondering how someone could say he's regressed is peculiar.

kaepernick has fewer and fewer passing attempts each week. amusing

i'm not worried. the seattle game was obviously terrible, and not having an active receiver worth a **** against indy besides boldin made 8 in the box + double covering boldin completely unexploitable by the niners. of the 9 incompletions against houston, 1 was a 30 yard catch by baldwin that he couldn't get the 2nd foot inbounds, 1 was a drop by davis at the goal line, 1 was a blown play behind the line of scrimmage on 3rd down when watt was inexplicably uncovered and 2 or 3 were batted at the line

of course that's not to say he was great by any means: he should have hit davis when he was wide open and didn't, and the first pass to boldin probably shoulda been picked by joseph, BUT, i'm not worried. even the return of manningham, as average a receiver as he is is going to make a HUGE improvement which is a pretty hilarious sign of the current state of affairs

ok so where does a "worse" WIMson rank among NFL QBs then?

I'm just thankful that the NO@SEA game is W13, should get lots of people back and be much stronger on offense. NO has quite the checkered past playing @SEA, if you guys remember.

All of those stats are down, but not by all that much. (especially when you factor in O-Line issues)

What I meant was, to label his play (and those stats) this year as "regressing" is too strong of a word, imo.

So pretty safe to say everyone is having a Sophomore slump?

Can anyone rate the soph/rookie QBs so far this year?

Luck at top right? Anyone have Foles up there?

I have a hard time placing Cam because of his current circumstances, but Tannehill>Cam seems correct given what we know. Tannehill is much more accurate, much less skittish, and much better throwing on the run. I don't think Cam is definitively better at anything besides pure running. Even so, there isn't a huge gap between them athletically.

RG3 has put up bad numbers against bad defenses. Really not looking good for the LOLskins.

edit: skins dont face a good D until the 49es in w12, wtf.

i get that tannehill's still for all intents and purposes a project and that this is only his 3rd or 4th year of ever playing qb, and his upside is incredible, but saying he isn't skittish after that spectacle of utter failure against new orleans seems like a mistake

Hmm, I dunno about that. Cam isn't having a great year but I'd certainly dynasty pick him over Tannehill. And Kaepernick.

Lol did you see the Ravens game? TanneGOAT is fearless. Getting whacked around some because his OL is horrendous and his receivers are ~average does not mean he is skittish. Surely he could improve his pocket awareness, but he also has less time in the pocket than nearly every QB itl.

Cam is much more of a project than Tannehill is at this point.

Perhaps someone should list what cam does definitively better than tannehill
