Negative article on Kaep by Glenn Dickey. Kaep over focuses on his favorite receiver. Montana/Young went through a progression. Could look for three or more receivers every play. Montana threw Taylor the TD pass in the final drive against Cincinnati in the SB.

my point isn't that i think montana's the GOAT cuz i absolutely don't, but "greatest player ever" is such a casualfan distinction and the standard casualfan explanation is montana's 4-0 in super bowl so montana

No, it was in NY. Jim Burt sacked him and Montana got his head slammed into the ice-cold turf at Meadowlands and got concussed.

Niners would win in '88 & '89 seasons and trying for a 3-peat, Montana got injured at home in '90 NFC championship game. However, Roger Craig fumbled ball in 4th and Giant would go on to win Super Bowl.

If you ever saw Montana, he floated. There was no frantic, headless chicken running around like some of the running QBs now. He was Joe Cool.

And BTW, Andrew Luck is the best young QB and its not even close.

Thing is, Luck is pretty damn good at running the ball, maybe a notch or two below elite. His passing is so good that designed run plays are -EV.

I think he will be the GOAT (way to early to tell obviously, but Peyton may have a couple things left to say). Maybe 2 19-0 seasons could cement Peyton as an unsurpassable GOAT.
