I don't get how you could watch last night's game and come away with that opinion. Your overall point could be correct, just a weird time to make it given the timing. He made every throw imaginable last night. He is clearly in a top tier situation as far as supporting cast goes, but his teammates benefited from having him as their QB last night rather than vice versa.



That 3rd TD pass to Kupp at the 1:40 mark is especially ridiculous. Who else can make that throw?

mcvay is already the goat coach it seems and probably is most of the reason for their success, but it's not like robert woods and cooper kupp have some great pedigree

yeah Goff made some amazing throws yesterday, it was one of the most perfectly played QB games i've ever seen. sure the play calling was creating a lot of mismatches but he had robot like accuracy on some very tough throws. plus like DK said are we really giving Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp credit for Goff looking elite?

I agree the McVay effect can't be understated, but Goff looked like Godgers on Thursday. I am loathe to give NFL QBs credit for executing throws when the rest of the play goes right, but Goff was making elite throws that half the league can't complete in practice.

It will be interesting to see how he reacts to sustained pressure (getting the Vikings D on lol rest was huge) and/or a team that can line up in a base 4-2-5 and play (like the Jags).

cooks, woods and kupp with gurley is an insane set of weapons. their OL is good too. woods/kupp aren't top flight talents but as 2nd and 3rd option they're very good--they're 2nd and 3rd round picks to go with two top 20 picks as WR1 and RB1. i think goff is pretty good but of the young QBs he definitely has the most elite talent surrounding him.

mahomes has kelce + hill with hunt and sammy
wentz has ertz + jeffrey + ajayi + nelson with a super elite OL
watson has 2 elite talents in WRs but his RBs/OL are sub par
Dak had an elite Ol but that's not looking that great--Elliott is great but no TE or WRs right now
Allen has pretty poor skill guys other than old ass McCoy
Rosen has Fitz + Johnson

I think I'd take Goff's weapons and likely prefer Mahomes upside.

In 2 years the rams are going to be giving Goff a 30 million a year deal that’ll eventually strip their team into whatever shell of itself the Seahawks are. I’m not denying Goff made some exceptional throws but I’m definitely not sold on him being a godgers level player that can make magic happen no matter who’s there and on that contract not being an albatross. Cooks is fantastic, Gurley is amazing, and whatever you think of woods and Kupp as 2-3 options go there aren’t many better. That offense is loaded and McVay is a god
