Jawsh >>>>> anyone that's played QB for the Vikings in the last 4 seasons (including Favre's last year). He's gonna look awesome with that offense.

It's difficult to play worse than Ponder. He accomplished that feat in Tampa, now he gets to try on Ponder's team. I'm not expecting much, even if he didn't suck it'll take time to get acclimated to the new environment.

Game plan: give it to Peterson. Give it to him again. And again. Mix in some play action bombs. Should be the most simplistic game plan of all time.

Wilson's 0.03 EPA/P vs. the Cardinals seems low imo. I'm guessing this is due to losing two fumbles deep in his own territory, which was partially on him, but also due to his O-Line (which will improve with the return of a couple Pro Bowlers), his receivers unable to get open (which will improve once Harvin is healthy), and fumble luck. Overall he played his ass off that game and that first touchdown throw to Sidney Rice was a goddamn beauty.

Right now I'm trading Wilson for Luck and Rodgers and that's it. And I'm not feeling great about trading him for Rodgers.

Agree that RW has eyetested better than his EPA/P this season, definitely expect it to improve. Also still think/agree that people jumped the gun on Kaepernick being "fraudulent" or whatever, but imo RW has earned himself a solid bit of separation there. Think it's something like Luck >>> RW > Cam >> Kaepernick(/RG3?) in prospect value atm, with the most variance around Cam and no real idea about RG3.

yeah i thought it was weird when kap got a slightly negative epa for his game last week against the cards (16/29 252 2 1, 4 rushes for 18 yards, 2 sacks) but there it is.

fwiw qbr (which i'm still not sure what to think about) thought both wilson and kap were pretty bad in those games too.

Agreed on Kaep, and even though I'm sure I've called him a fraud, that was almost 100% trolling 49er fans. The dude's obviously talented and his "weapons" are real bad. That being said, he has looked legitimately shook both games at the Gimmick.

QBR seems lolbad from what I remember of it. I'll have to look again at how exactly it's calculated, but I feel pretty good completely ignoring it.

QBR is, conceptually, a strange completely-black-box mixture of EPA and WPA.

For some reason I thought the formula was public, but yeah I just noticed that. Maybe it's better than I give it credit for, but using a combination of EPA/P + WPA + eyetest seems better than citing a metric with an opaque computation.

I'd like to bet against this for the long term. Kaep is definitely more physically talented, but Wilson's mental makeup and work ethic are immense and more than make up for the physical gap imo.

Also i predicted at the beginning of the season Luck would regress to worst of the bunch if he lost Reggie Wayne.

Time to put that to the test :/

oh he absolutely will. not his fault of course, but what can u do. throwing to hilton 15 times a game is going to be comical, DHB's garbage, they have basically nothing besides fleener after that and fleener's nothing special. plus FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICK trent richardson is a turd

if luck can still go hyper-elite without wayne his status as 1. luck 2. manning is pretty indisputable

Agreed on Wilson. Our defense played better against him than I think we did against Cam. Constant fast pressure and he was incredible at making plays. Cam just stood there for awhile and made mistakes; RW's mind is on hyperspeed.

If he can play that well against that defense at that level he's going to roll past everyone else. He did fall asleep on one of the sack-strips, though.

His WRs aren't good. Smitty is too old, and everyone else sucks.
