The safety (only comes into frame towards the end) is either designed to play shallow or blew his assignment and let ODB get behind him. If he's supposed to play shallow, that DB either has to know he's got no help, in which case he's very bad, or thought he had help and was willing to bite on a move knowing someone would be there if he got juked.

Cliffs: ODB good, STL secondary LOL

Seriously, why wasn't LSU putting up 70 points a game last year with Jeremy Hill and OBGOAT

They blew the coverage by having that guy trying to cover him from the position he was coming from. When that DB is coming from that angle and that position on the field at a WR coming at him from the opposite direction he's just got zero chance if the WR makes any kind of decent move. He had as much chance as a fat SE regular.

So the Rams had a guy assigned to him but it was still a blown coverage.

Cam Cameron as LSU's OC. Also and more importantly, Zack wasn't anything special as a college QB.

Obj is just insane. He can run any route from anywhere on the field. He's so fast off the los I don't know how you're supposed to stop him yards other than hugely sacrificing the game by leaving someone else basically open. Even then it doesn't matter. He'll kill you deep or underneath and after the catch He's got the tools to become literally the GOAT.

+ Jarvis Landry

Also, thread title needs changed to remove the "rookie" part.

and Alfred Blue.

Like, LSU last year had a guy who has started NFL games at QB this year, 2 RBs who have started including one who has just crushed the second half of the season, and 2 full time WR starters including a bonafide WR1 who right now is arguably a top 5 WR in the league. I'm not gonna bother to look, but I assume their OL had some big guys who are good and their defense almost assuredly had NFL players on it.

He might be better than arguably top 5 in da lee. Would you trade him straight up for any non-Mega WR (contracts being equal of course)?

age would have to be equal too.

I think Megatron and Antonio Brown are better.

AJG, Julio, Demaryius, Jordy, TY, and Dez all have to at least be in the discussion.

He is definitely top 10, but it is debatable if he is top 5 right now and the small sample size makes it impossible to tell.

As an asset he is more valuable than probably all of them bc of age and contract, but if you stripped my team of its #1 WR and let me pick from the above list for the playoff run (assuming all are fully healthy) I am not sure he is definitely in the top 5.

yeah age too

everything being equal I snap him for Demariyus, Jordy, TY. Only ones I'd have to think about are Dez/AJG/maybe Antonio/Julio

Since the bye week NYG had where OBJ started to really become prominent in the NYG offense OBJ has the following stat line:

8 games
1014 yards
8 TDs

so as long as as you think about those and healthy Megatron then you have an argument that he is not top 5 since that would be 6 guys in the debate for 5 spots.

Poor Josh Gordon, already forgotten. Give ODB another season to keep this pace up then he can get his crown

We can bet as much as you want.

My side is that he is top 5 without any argument.

Your side is that he is merely "arguably top 5".

Rankings will be my eyetest.
