"Ignition" is pretty undeniable. Probably my #3 of what's been picked so far.

"Despacito" is interesting to me. At first I was like, I usually think of bangers as having more bass and faster tempo. But then I was like, yeah, I would get on the dance floor to this, and isn't that what really matters?

Was the other song I was seriously considering, great pick, obvious value, etc.

To me, the ultimate BANGER has a few irreplaceable qualities.

1. Gets people on the dance floor without fail
2. Has an awesome part to sing along to
3. Is great to listen to even when you're not at a party
4. Has a great opening hook that you instantly know what song it is as soon as it drops

With those qualities, I want to take you back to a year 2000. We just averted the crisis of Y2K and rap music was in a weird transitory phase. We're on our way between the gangsta rap and party rap eras. Smack dab in the middle of the dominance of a guy named Eminem out of Detroit Michigan. Jay-Z is switching to a more fun vibe but still has that hard Brooklyn edge about him. Southern Party rap is just starting to pick up steam with acts like Ludacris and Lil Jon producing certified BANGERS out of the ATL.

When out of nowhere... A weird act from somewhere else in the midwest produces the album of the year and one of the all time BANGERS. Seriously, listen to it and try not to yell along with





That hook pulls me in every time. NELLY is definitely a top BANGER producer, excited to get his best song with my #8 pick.
