That`s the thing.The surface has a pretty high bounce and certainly isn`t fast enough for Federer to get lots of easy points like he would do on an indoor surface and once the point is played from the baseline Nadal would win 3 out of 4 points.
I don`t think it`s about Federer playing poorly vs Nadal in the slams.At IW last year he also struggled on a slow hard court and looking at all surfaces in the slams it`s all looking pretty similar.
The days u get 4 players in the semis of RG and completely other players in the semis of Wimbledon are long gone.Surfaces are way to similar.
U might get a bit of variation on an indoor court or even Davis Cup but the rest look basically the same and the points are similar.
