This is always a fun question given the variance in the women's game. You had basically the whole catalog of women to choose from, and it is all about risk vs reward.

INCORRECT ANSWERS

The most popular incorrect was taken by 3, which will tie for the SHEEP score. Last year as an unseeded player she was knocked out in the 2nd round, and this year as the #12 seed she had the same fate.
Spoiler:
Incorrect answer: Julia Görges
- Habsfan09
- kutuz_off
- mw828

Our leader after question #5 and one other entrant took this player. The #27 seed did not play in last year's Aussie open due to an injury sustained during an armed robbery. In her first round match she twice had the opportunity to serve for the match, but twice was broken and lost in 3 sets.
Spoiler:
Incorrect answer: Petra Kvitová
- kingweed
- Chrizza

As the #23 seed last year, this player lost in the first round. She was one better as a seed this year, and advanced one round further, but unfortunately still short of being correct. Two of you were wrong with the #22 seed.
Spoiler:
Incorrect answer: Daria Kasatkina
- sixfour
- Nandos v2

The final two incorrect answers were chosen by 1 each, and were a lot more risk for the reward of an almost guaranteed ace. Unfortunately the players did not come through:

This player was incredibly high on the risk scale. Last year as an unseeded player she lost in the first round. This year as a qualifier, she got crushed 6-1 6-1 in her first round match. Would have been a very flashy answer if correct, but this one went down in flames.
Spoiler:
Incorrect answer: Irina Falconi
- xander biscuits

Another high risk pick. Lost in the first round last year, lost in the first round this year.
Spoiler:
Incorrect answer: Christina McHale

CORRECT ANSWERS

This answer also tied for the SHEEP with 3. It seemed like the obvious safe pick as the #1 seed, but she'd lost in the first round the past 2 years. The bad streak was finally broken this year and she fairly easily made her way into the 3rd round. Myself and 2 others tally another SHEEP with...

Both entrants needed this to be correct. Tommy_Tomich969 went from being tied for the lead to 7 off the pace with his last incorrect, and eyebooger was our only entrant without a correct answer.

But they both scored with this one. It wasn't easy, the #27 seed lost the first set in both her first and second round matches, but unlike last year when she was bounced in the second round as the #3 seed, this year she came back and won them both.

Correct answer: Agnieszka Radwańska

And once again we close with 4 aces.

The flashiest correct answer goes to this entrant. This player is outside of the top 50 and unseeded, but made the 3rd round in 2016, and after a 2nd round loss last year, made the 3rd round again this year. Enjoy your well deserved ace with this one.
Spoiler:

Correct answer: Naomi Osaka

Last year this player had the unfortunate draw of having to face Serena Williams in the 2nd round, which ended any hopes of reaching the 3rd round. This year as the #29 seed, she's into the 3rd round without losing a set.
Spoiler:

Correct answer: Lucie Šafářová

Last year as the #19 seed she lost in the first round, but this year as the #30 seed shes into the 3rd round with a very winnable match against Wozniacki in the 3rd round. Another well deserved ace.

Correct answer: Kiki Bertens

And we close with one last ace. This player missed last year's open due to a wrist injury, and came in as the #17 seed this time. She has looked dominant in both her victories and really was never in doubt of reaching the 3rd round.

This answer is saved for last not because it is the flashiest choice, but because it is this entrants' second ace in a row, and completes his meteoric rise to the top of the standings, the place he was all of last year. Enjoy the ace and the top spot on the podium with

Self-sabotage is half the fun of this game.

FWIW, it looks to be going downhill for me from here on, so unless you are at trainwreck level you should still have a chance.

INCORRECT ANSWERS

Most popular incorrect was taken by 4 of you. Last year this rising star was up 2-1 against Nadal in the third round, but lost the 4th and 5th set. This year as the 4 seed, he was up 2-1 against an unseeded opponent, but lost the 4th set and got bageled in the 5th. Weak stuff and a deserved incorrect for.

Incorrect answer: Alexander Zverev

The next incorrect by 3 of you. Last year this big serving American lost in the 2nd round. This year he did one worse, losing in the first round.

The next 4 incorrects were taken by one each. Would have been an ace, but sadly the players came up short.

Our leader took this player, who missed last season's open due to injury, but couldn't make it out of the first round this year.
Spoiler:
Incorrect answer: Kevin Anderson

Last year as the #16 seed, he lost in the first round. This year as the #18 seed, he lost in the first round.
Spoiler:
Incorrect answer: Lucas Pouille

This was a risky pick that almost paid off. This 18 year made his debut performance at the open and won his first round match, and had a real change to knock off Tsonga in the 2nd round. But he came up a little short. Might be a correct answer for this question next year, but unfortunately not this year:
Spoiler:
Incorrect answer: Denis Shapovalov

The highest ranked American was knocked off in the third round last year, and this year did a couple rounds worse, losing in the first round.

And in addition to our huge SHEEP, we've got 2 aces.

This player lost last night in his 4th round match, but no matter, he qualifies for this question. An inexplicable 2nd round loss last year, but this year he stayed composed roughly the whole tournament and had a much better performance.
Spoiler:

Correct answer: Nick Kyrgios
Nandos v2

And the final ace is from yours truly. This player has won the tournament a cool 6 times, but was an unknown returning from injury. Well he easily outdid his 2nd round exit last year, getting to the 4th round this year with a very winnable match against Chung Hyeon. I inexplicably slide onto the podium with this ace...
