Some bring friends and family to their box, Nick brings hostages

I hope Nick gets to 4-4 this set so some nerves kick in. Rather that than Novak running away with this set.

It’s 4-4, getting down to the business end of the match. #popcorn

How about that get from Novak at 15-15!

Nick has a few more Wimbledons to go to try win his maiden slam, he really has no chance anywhere else.

Overall, a good effort from him. If by 27 years of age he still has no mental or emotional control, then it will never happen. He has always had the ability to win one if not multiple grand slam tournaments but he just doesn’t have it in him.

Great effort from Novak.

Agree with this. He should probably see a sports psychologist but at 27…. I doubt he can make changes per se. I hate the vibe he gives off in this interview. Doesn’t sound hungry or even sad that he lost. If you don’t have the hunger to be the best, you aren’t going to win slams. The red flag with krygios to me is he only has 6 titles. No doubt, krygios at his best can compete with fed, nadal, djokovic. Problem is he has mental issues and isn’t fully committed/loving of the game. If he had passion like a fed/ nadal/ djokovic for the game, guy would have multiple slams. He’s talented though. Idc who you are- 6 pro titles is impressive for someone that kinda seems disinterested in the game.

Btw djokovic is nuts if he doesn’t get vaccine. He’s going to lose his shot at goat if he has to miss Aussie and us open.

Kyrgios is the king of WIL. No way he ever wins a slam with his mentality the way it is.

A bit crazy to me djoke has 7 wimbledon and 4 in a row. Would have maybe thought grass was his worst surface before last few years.

Being rafas maybe worst surface plus no murray declining fed probably helps too.

I think he probably needs a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist. My guess is he's had sports psychologists before, but most of them are not trained for treating mental illness which I suspect is the root of Kyrigos' issues.

It's difficult to express how bad that decision of ATP & WTA to not award points is as a response to Wimbledon banning Russians. It's like dumb and dumber

I'm sure Djokovic won't care much that he drops to 7th because his win is not counted and thus considered as an underperformance compared to last year but for some of the less well ranked players, it's actually costing them money and opportunities that they had rightly earned

Not awarding points AND not keeping Wimbledon 2021 points is a double blow. Probably going to be difficult for Djokovic to ever get back to #1, he needs 5 more weeks to attain the most weeks at #1 for a singles player (Graf 377, Djokovic 373, Navratilova 332, Serena 319, Federer 310).

The 1400 points will hurt Kyrgios, he probably would have been seeded at the US Open. As it stands, he could face Djokovic in R1.

Rybakina would be #3 in the WTA Race, instead she’s #19.

No, but the ATP/WTA have to be shitting themselves. A Saudi tour is going to happen.

Not awarding points is colossally stupid. Just protect the Russian rankings. How hard is that to figure out?

Hulu has a pretty decent catalog of classic matches. I was just re-watching the 2016 US Open final. They were rattling off some stats at the end that put what's happened in the last six years into perspective. Stan was the first active player to win multiple grand slams past the age of 30. He was, at 31 years old, the oldest player to win a slam since Agassi in 2003. Agassi won 5 in his 30s which the announcers thought was ridiculous.

Since then 20 of the last 22 have been won by players in their 30s. Novak 9, Nadal 8, Federer 3. It's too bad Stan & Murray weren't able to stay healthy and keep competing for slams but historically I guess that's the norm.

I strongly disagree with the decision and I got my 4th covid dose last week. I think he probably has more chance of being allowed into Australia, presuming he gets his 3-year exclusion overturned.

change.org has collected 17k signatures to convince USTA/US gov to allow Djokovic to play. McEnroe can't believe Djokovic won't be allowed to play, trying to convince powers that be. It won't work obv.

If Djokovic were a US citizen he could play, as USTA has no vaccine restrictions.
