I don't think I've ever seen a player complain to an ump about their opponent foot faulting, it's so hard to see.

When I was a kid I used to play at the park with my brother and/or a friend from school. There was a regular there, middle aged guy, who we sometimes would hit with for a few minutes before his friend showed up, and we played doubles with them once or twice. The guy stepped over the line 6-8 inches on every serve he ever hit, it was kinda funny actually. But you could barely see it when returning unless you were really looking at his feet.

I doubt the pros are even thinking about looking at the servers feet when they're returning, they're going to be focused on the toss and the shoulder turn to try to read where the serve is going.

Swiatek now outright 10th for most weeks as WTA #1. Sabalenka has come very close but just fallen short of reaching tge #1 ranking. Both are defending a lot of points at the US Open.

Best 3 setter I've ever seen, epic.

Not sure what each player takes into USO, but Djokovic winning has to be a plus for him.

Daylight #3 in the rankings, no one comes close to what Alcaraz and Djokovic can produce. It’s lucky that Carlos is around otherwise Novak would have little opposition.

Novak soon to regain the #1 ranking: https://live-tennis.eu/en/forecast-atp-ranking

USO website has live streaming of 5 practice courts:

https://www.usopen.org/en_US/video/p.../court-p1.html

Medvedev on court 1 right now.

Practice courts can be fun to watch sometimes.

Alcaraz on practice court 1 right now, hitting with his brother. Gauff and Eubanks on practice court 2, with Brad Gilbert and crew. Gauff puts a lot more sidespin on her serves than most wta players, didn't really notice that until now. You can get a better look at their strokes than in matches.

Draw ceremony scheduled for tomorrow at noon ET.

Guys realistically capable of beating Alcaraz: Vak, Sinner, Zverev, FAA, Paul. Alcaraz could face Sinner or Zverev in the QF, the other three are in the bottom half.

Guys realistically capable of beating Vak: Alcaraz, Medvedev, Rune, Zverev. Rune the only one in the bottom half, could face Vak in the SF. For that match to even happen Rune would likely need to get through Karatsev, Bublik, Paul, and Ruud.

I don't see many interesting early rounds, hopefully there will be some upsets or some unseeded player gets hot and crushes because otherwise I could see this being pretty dull until the final.

Possible exciting crowd pleaser QF in Vak vs Eubanks. Eubanks would need to get through Stef and Fritz first. He of course beat Stef at Wimby, but Stef always disappoints on grass. Banksy has a 1-0 record against Fritz.

Bublik's early rounds should be fun: Thiem then Shelton. Humbert-Berrettini could be quality. Maybe I'll check out Tsitsipas-Raonic just to see how far Raonic is from his peak.

Turns out he couldn't get past Carballes Baena. Vak is cruising to the final without dropping a set, unless he fires a ball at someone's throat.

Sakkari also bombing out on day 1.

Iga won her 19th bagel set of the year. She had 22 last year. The most bagel sets Serena ever won in a year was 25 in 2013.

Stan is the oldest player since Connors in 1992 to win a singles match and he's in the 3rd round now! He's looking better than I've seen over the past few years but he hasn't really been able to hold up in grand slams recently and he's playing Sinner tomorrow after being on the court for almost 4 hours yesterday. If he somehow managed to pull that one off it'd be amazing. I'm guessing Sinner is something like a 10-1 fav.

Sabalenka will be #1 after USO.

This is the 20th anniversary of the last USA man to win a major. Ben Shelton is the first murican since Roddick to reach at least 2 major QFs before age 21.

In general there's been a disappointing lack of young hotness talent in the wta. I've had the same top 3 ever since kirilenko retired 9 years ago (krunic, giorgi, cirstea). There's Katie Swan but she has chronic back problems and unlikely to ever get in the top 50 to begin with. There was Sofya Zhuk for a couple years but she retired and became an onlyfans model. Raducanu, Rybakina, Badosa are cute but not kirilenko level.

Hottest player under 30 is Eva Lys, 21 yr old german, ranked #116. Coached by Petkorazzi. Her game is decent, nothing spectacular.

Sinner-Zverev going 5 sets, great match. Sinner doing an excellent Djokovic impression, hobbling around between points and moving perfectly fine during points.

There are lots of hotties in the WTA. A lot I don’t even know their name but you watch them play and say “damn she’s hot.”

I’ll study it more and get you some names lol.

If you're not watching shelton-tiafoe right now you suck.

Shelton proving he's the most talented american since roddick. He'll be challenging Alcaraz for #1 in a year or two.

Shelton gets his first crack at the Vak in his first slam SF.

He'll be ranked in the top 20 next week. At the USO last year he was #165.
