They are both smacking the crap out of the ball. Djokovoc even more aggressive than usual.

It's kinda fun to see the confirmation that these two are by far the best in the world.

I want a tie break

Damn. At 1 set all, I’d be surprised if Carlos doesn’t win in 4. I’d be very shocked if Novak has the energy to win.

This sucks - don't see how he won't withdraw soon looking like this.

It was such an awesome match too.

Surely Carlos retires any minute now.

I’m so bummed about this.

Novak should consider losing a game or two up 5-1 to keep Alcaraz from going into the locker room

Andy tweeted this a couple minutes before the leg cramp set in

What? That would be the worst possible strategy. Cramping often just takes time to go away and for electrolytes to help. Vak should want to get the 4th set started asap.

I dunno about this retirment talk. Cramp goes away fairly quickly. The question is how much ground Alcaraz will have lost by the time he recovers.

I have Djokovic +176, but this still totally sucks. This had all-time potential.

It reminders me a little bit of Stan/Nadal Australian open final when Stan won his first major, except Stan was already dominating before Nadal got hurt, and then he inexplicably lost the next set with Nadal playing at like 40%.

Retirement or not, I'm mostly bummed it killed what was a fantastic match. Holding out to the end here is pretty much the same as retiring as far as match quality goes.

Alcaraz has now lost 9 games in a row

And only won 4 points on serve

This is 10 straight slam SF wins in a row for Vak, last slam SF he lost was to Thiem at RG 2019.

Alcaraz is gonna win a lot of majors but I think he plays too physical to have a long run like Djokovic/Federer or even Nadal. I’m shocked Rafa has lasted as long as he has.

The next question for me is whether Alcaraz can compete yet with Djoker on the grass at Wimbledon.
