Amazing. I fell asleep in 2nd set. Did he lose the second set from up 4-1? He was up 3-1 and 40-15 last I remember. I think we might have to give him the GOAT even though I've always counted the clay court specialist thing somewhat against his bid.

We can't just give him the French any more but if the foot will hold up wouldn't it be something if he made a run at all 4 this year? Talk about a closing kick for GOAT. Dude is a sports hero for real, not just a playa. I'm not a hard core tennis fan but it must be something to be one during this era. I know Mason is a player ... does he post much on the GOAT subject/GOAT era of tennis/

What a match. I was at the lowest of lows after the second set set but the the GOAT pulled it off. Incredible

Basically I’m saying I think nadal is closer to the end than djokovic. I could see djokovic playing at a higher level for longer in comparison to nadal bc nadal played such a taxing style so long
They've been saying this "Nadal's body will never hold up/game won't age well/etc." Stuff since he was like 22. Now he's won slams further apart than Fed, and it's longevity rather than peak that's the main argument for his GOATness. Not saying you're wrong w.r.t. Djok probably having more left in him but I wouldn't be 100% on it just yet. He's just an absolute unicorn athletically.

Del Potro making another comeback but likely just to say goodbye: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/60273217

Shame, always liked the guy and always wondered what could've been if it wasn't for his injuries. Could've been Murray/Wawrinka type of level and won a few more slams/finals for sure.

His 2009 US Open form was so good. Ran through Nadal and beat Fed in the final. Would've definitely taken some slams from the big 3 if he had been healthy.

Medvedev ahead of Novax in the live rating. To keep it so he need to either win in Acapulco as many games as Novax in Dubai, get to last 16 if Novax lose in QF or for Novax to lose in last 16

Could be a dumb question, but is a week like this one normal in either the ATP or WTA? You have top Men's players playing across 2 different tournaments in the same week (Zverev/Tsitsipas/Nadal in Mexico, Novak/Rublev/Sinner/Shapo in Dubai) and then there's even a third in Chile.

Week with two 500s do happen couple of times a year, although they do not always attract almost all of top 10 (I wonder why you omitted Medvedev who will play in Acapulco in a couple of minutes). And there are a 250 (like one in Chile) almost every week that has no major or 1000 tournament

Nadal and Medvedev played a 20 minute 9 deuce game in which Nadal saved 7 break points. It was incredible to watch.

Nadal in straight sets over the new #1

Thought Kyrgios played one of his more mature matches I've seen today. He had a few outbursts, but his level never dipped. I thought he outplayed Nadal for 3 sets and got pretty unlucky in some of the big moments. More importantly, I thought he outplayed him without being overly reliant on his serve. He definitely had a below average serving match (for him) but was consistently battling in the rallies on both ends. Interested to see if he can carry this over to Miami, because that'll probably be the last tourney he plays until grass.

19-0 on the season for Nadal. Two matches from being undefeated headed into his clay court season. Pretty insane at 35 years old. Or at all.

Alcaraz to win the French at 8-1 odds is insane. Jump on it while you can. The kid has a real shot.

What a strange tourney it's been in Miami. Medvedev loses again and Alcaraz is down a break. Big opportunity for the remaining 5 left.

B2B wins for Murray on clay against Thiem and Shapovalov in Madrid. He gets Djokovic on Thursday. Pretty sweet to see them play one more time, even if Novak likely rolls.
