Match was already 3:09 long, Doi was down 5-7 1-5 then won the next 6 games to take the match to a 3rd set, Doi was then leading 5-2 40-0 against serve but could not convert any of her 5 match points. It got to 6-6 for a deciding tiebreak, Doi lost the first point then retired due to debilitating cramp.

I jinxed him, 11-time Monte Carlo winner Nadal loses in 3 sets to Rublev, so Medvedev remains at #2 for now. Could Djokovic and Nadal be drawn in the same half at Roland Garros?
If Rublev wins his SF vs Ruud, he will overtake Federer and go to a career high #7. If he then defeats Tsitsipas/Evans in the final, he will overtake Zverev and move up to #6.
Even with a title win, Tsitsipas cannot move into the top 4 for the first time.
Casper Ruud will go to a career best #12 if he goes all the way, or 18/19 with a loss in the final.

Im sure Wimbledon seed players correct I’m not sure about the French though. Rafa should be #1 but that’s cause to much of an issue so 2nd seed will have to do. Can’t be having him the #3 seed! Guys never lost there unless injured and it’s only happened twice in almost 2 decades.

At Roland Garros, Rafa was seeded #4 in 2016-2017 and #6 in 2015 (his lowest ever seeding there).

I believe several years ago slams and ATP/WTA made an agreement that seeding would be strictly based on ranking
Roger decided to skip almost all clay season, will only play Geneva and RG
If I was Roger I'd skip the entire clay season, and spend the entire season training on grass courts, to give him a big grass training edge for his one last shot at wimbledon.
I have the opinion that a lower ranking at Wimbledon also helps Federer's chances of winning the title. Being older, he's more worn down than other players later in the tournament, so if he can meet his toughest opponent earlier in the tournament, it's to his advantage.
