Rublev unreal good. How is he only the 7th seed?

Watched only the highlights but looked strong! Ruud played some decent stuff too. Obv it was the highlights pack, but one of the better ones of those.

Rublev is legit, too bad his QF is against his nemesis who's in great form and been dominating Rublev for his entire life.

This is a weird set of quarterfinalists. We got two previous 2+2 thread champions, Dimitrov vs a qualifier and Zverev vs a seemingly vulnerable Novak.

I stayed up until 6 in the morning watching it hehe. Amazing how Karatsev suddenly turned on his GOAT switch after playing like a Futures player in the first two sets.

FAA of course immediately folded at the first sign of adversity. Dude needs a sports psychologist and a new coach. His current one coached Chardy for 12 years, clearly the chronic lack of COJONES is rubbing off on him

Hopefully Karatsev starts better against Dimitrov, if he goes down a set and a break in that one I think it's over. If Dimitrov has a peak slicebotting day it could really sabotage Karatsev's game. But at least it's a better match-up for the Russian than Thiem (WTF happened there?!)

Rublev has a very onedimensional game that is amazingly effective against everyone below him, but gets exposed against everyone above him. With him it's bash bash bash and if it doesn't work plan b is to bash even harder. Can't overpower the top guys and everything he does is way too predictable for them

I'm not sure if it's just confirmation bias on my part, but it does seem like every match this tournament that has necessitated large amounts of umpire camera time, be it injury timeouts or player blowups like Kyrgios in the 2nd rounder, it's the insanely good looking female umpire. I'm mostly just curious how you get into the business of tennis umpiring when you're that good looking in your late thirties.
