I tried to analogize to baseball players that look like schlubs but have elite reflexes.

...They do look like dorks though compared to Novak and Monfils type guys.

It's tough because TV makes it nearly impossible to show how elite they are.

Even golfers (and curlers!) are getting jacked nowadays

This is a great point- a long time complaint of tv tennis is that the common camera placement spot makes the game appear very slow.

The behind-the-player viewpoint that shows how insanely fast the ball is being hit would be huge for showing the viewer how difficult playing this game is.

They need a chair cam to really show you how the ball is flying plus I love seeing how players net clearance varies

Have you guys watched tennis on VR? I prefer a low baseline cam like that to see the ball action. Flat serves are fast but I'm actually always surprised at the lack of pace on groundstrokes. Casual fans will never understand trying to play a heavy deep ball no matter what TV technology exists.

I wish I could have stayed up and watched the end of that Medvedev vs Wawrinka match. I went to bed after Medvedev went up 2-1.

Yeh, I was the same.

I watched most of Rafa v nick today, brilliant match, was really hoping it'd go to a 5th. Nick was absolutely smashing those forehands.

He timed most of his drops shots but that one in the tie break was the incorrect call for me. Was hoping it'd go to a fifth could have been epic.

Rafa rolls on!

I've got Rafa, Roger and Novak all in 3 and Stan in 5.

The mere fact Novak or Rogers path involves playing Novak/Roger then Rafa in the final makes it harder path IMO

Lot of them for Rafa realistically are just cannon fodder until this morning, he hadn't dropped a set.

Rafa will smash over rated Thiem as well.

Nick really could be something else if he worked on his shot selection even a smidge but that's also what makes Nick, Nick

Fun match and holy **** Nadal gets pace back with such ease, almost never finds himself in an impossible spot on the court, always there
