I'm watching a real live tennis tournament for the first time in approximately 100 years. This Paolini is cute and fiesty, plays like a clay mug. Nike players wearing skirts made out of dish rags. Tennis is back
Been watching some of the British tournaments that have been on Amazon.
I think the us will go ahead but hope it doesn’t, should just do a load of small tournaments to keep everything ticking over then restart afresh next year with the Australian.
Will be tough as the state of Eastern Australia is pretty bad at the moment.
Western & Southern Open. (US Open starts 3 days after final)
So FAA and Sandgren 6-7 6-2 7-6 to Sandgren was one the worst pro matches I've ever seen. FAA double faults 15 times including on his own match pt in the tb and FAA had 2 aces vs 8 for Sandgren. Up a break in the 3rd at 5-3 FAA loses 13 straight points. Between the two of them they had 35 winners and 103 errors. LOL
The New York Times reports that Novak Djokovic, Vasek Pospisil and others are resigning from leadership roles in the Association of Tennis Professionals in order to form a Professional Tennis Players Association. Women will not be included. Governing bodies in the tennis world, as well as Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, have spoken out against the move.
Sebastian Korda is Petr Korda's son, so his career is probably well funded regardless of his results. Ruusuvuori is in the top 100, so not getting rich yet but easily making more money than he would at a grocery store, with much higher potential.
A player in the bubble has tested positive for Coronavirus and has been withdrawn. The USTA didnt name the player immediately but in completely unrelated news #17 seed Benoit Paire has been withdrawn from the tournament.
