Davis cup is on in Spain. Single venue format with a plan to get 6 full best of 3 games through in one day per court including hit ups and warm ups etc. Obviously when a few matches go deep and push into deciding sets the night can get late. They budgeted for 6hrs for three BO3 matches, and some ties went 9hrs, so lol scheduling.

As it worked out the Italy vs USA tie finished at 4.04am. Second latest finish to a mainstream match ever behind Lleyton Hewitt beating Baghdatis at 4.34am in the morning as Aus Open 2008 (blame Venus Williams for that.

Thankfully neither team had to play today.

Amazing effort by Shapo and Pospisil to get to the final and great match from Shapo vs Nadal today. Still wish Pospisil had played the first singles today though. Overcoming Spain in Spain w/Nadal was always going to be a reach.

I'm sure no one is watching, but this Pliskova Osaka match is nuts. Very high quality. Women's tennis would be far more entertaining if other women could play at this level.
