I've heard that the difference between being ranked in the 8-15 range and being in the 30-60 range isn't really an issue of literal tennis skill, but more in decision making (shot selection) and internal tilt control.
Maybe he's made some changes to how he approaches the game. I dunno, but good for him. He seems like a decent guy.
Taylor (aka Frank) Fritz with the now 11-1 record in deciding set tiebreakers after he just routed Verdasco 7-1 in the 3rd set breaker. Frank looking good and that TB record is amazing and shows me a lot.
Sadly he did in fact die of sepsis. Both he and Seguso kind of started the modern era of a doubles specialist paving the way for teams like Woodforde and Woodbridge and the Bryan's to take over doubles.
Was surprised to see that Carling Bassett and Seguso are still together. Man he scored there.

I had to sit courtside while my doubles partner horrifyingly tried his absolute hardest against Bassett (then #10 in the world) in an exhibition pro set. He had a won the local area public parks singles the previous year and it was promoted by the local paper. He crushed a disinterested/injured Bassett 8-1 and fist pumped nearly every point. It was cringe at it's highest level but he just didn't get it. She was a doll for sure though.
