Agree that Rafa could pass Federer in grand slams at this point and Federer could still be considered the GOAT. Something like Federer winning zero more, and Nadal winning 4 French and one other GS before retiring. For Nadal, he needs to pile on the weeks at number one (something like two full years worth) and win at least two non-French GS.
Part of Roger's advantage is after he won 12 out of 18 slams, he's been talked about as the GOAT or future GOAT on broadcasts for the last 10+ years. He'll retire in that same conversation and Rafa will be trying to get into the argument long past his prime.
