Old favorite Fognini is (14), up and comer Tsitsipas is (15).

Plus, of course, we could always do to some female player what we did to Genie when we made her the 2p2 favorite....

So many options! It almost feels like we need a poll on who to saddle with the immense pressure of representing us.
plz don't jinx Shapo!

The more I think about it, the more Karen Khachanov is the guy.

A name like a bikini model, a game like a future Grand Slam winner; this is the guy we need to saddle with all of our hopes and dreams.

Do we pick the guy that does the best or the guy that does the worst?

I feel like we've started a trend

The guy/girl most likely to be the next big thing, that suddenly tanks like a dead body.

I say keep it simple and stick with Zverev.

...a Zverev hater I see. Nothing wrong with that.

I think it's Zverev too for men's
Svitolina for females? Similar as she always folds in the big ones.

That's a good point. Guy has STILL not had a good grand slam performance.

I've had a mancrush on Khachanov since 2016 when I picked him in racket rally for most of the year and won it.

I watched like 3 tennis matches this year but I'll come back strong in 2019.

Off season ftw

Random questions and thoughts...

1. I got a weird feeling Genie has a good year. Now I just gotta figure out what that means. She had a good record in qualies last year whatever that means and Michael Joyce is in her corner after leaving Konta.

2. Cahill stepped away from Halep to spend more time with his family but it makes sense. Halep got that Grand Slam she was looking for, I expect her to have an inconsistent season.

3. Venus Williams cut her coach of 11 years and he was shocked by the move.

4. Can Pova make a Grand Slam final again?

5. We will have a final set TB at Aussie. First to 10 points win by 2. They also adjusted the extreme heat rules which is nice.

6. Does Federer have one last push in the tank? I think if he goes Slamless this year it's over and he'll retire. Bookies have him as a coinflip to win at least 1.

7. Is this Novak's tour to dominate again? He's 80% to win atleast 1 Slam.

8. I want to see Tiafoe grow even more as a player and more importantly mentally as he still goes away at times.

9. **** ISNER!

10. Murray is still having hip pain. Is he done?

11. Nadal apparently still a bit banged up after surgery.

12. The opportunity is there for someone from the young crop. Alex de Minaur seems to be flying under the radar when mentioning all these young guns but he's the top ranked Aussie at the moment.

13. ONE TIME MONFILS!

14. A spider bite is impacting Kyrgios' prep to start the year. Only you Nick.

15. Zverev is the 4th betting favorite at every Slam but Wimby where he's the 5th favorite. If not now, when?

16. I'm not sold on Tsitsipas

1-4 - lol womens tennis

5. We will have a final set TB at Aussie. First to 10 points win by 2. They also adjusted the extreme heat rules which is nice. - This should be good and beneficial all round

6. Does Federer have one last push in the tank? I think if he goes Slamless this year it's over and he'll retire. Bookies have him as a coinflip to win at least 1. -
I hope he wins one, i really doubt it though, it really would be incredible. If he plays the French he'll retire at the end of the year.

7. Is this Novak's tour to dominate again? He's 80% to win atleast 1 Slam. - Should do, he's the best at the moment. We need Zverev to really step up and go deep and possible win a slam.

8-9 - lol yanks

10. Murray is still having hip pain. Is he done? - Yes, think so although he was good enough to get to QF/Semi of slams while in pain and he's always had pain in his ankle, so time will tell. Hopefully he recovers and is right bang at it.

11. Nadal apparently still a bit banged up after surgery. - Same as Murray

12. The opportunity is there for someone from the young crop. Alex de Minaur seems to be flying under the radar when mentioning all these young guns but he's the top ranked Aussie at the moment. - He won't do jack.

13. ONE TIME MONFILS! - he's simply not good enough

14. A spider bite is impacting Kyrgios' prep to start the year. Only you Nick. - Brilliant.

15. Zverev is the 4th betting favorite at every Slam but Wimby where he's the 5th favorite. If not now, when? - I'm going to stick my neck on the line, he wins one this year. I don't know which one though.

16. I'm not sold on Tsitsipas - I'm on the fence too.

Let us AUSSIE OPEN!!

DGBG... you take that great post you just made, throw in the pictures posted earlier of the odd season WTA, then pick a player to curse in the title, and you got yourself an ATP/WTA 2019 thread...

Not sure what that means. He's 21 and will only get better while the top 3 get older.

I've never seen him, or De Minaur. Tennis changes so fast. A couple years ago I would've had to go outside the top 100 to find a guy I'd never seen play.

Genie has more talent than her current rank, I would bet on her being in the top 50 at the end of the year just based on talent. But WTA is weird so who the hell knows. She's playing Auckland and that draw looks super weak so she has a chance to step it up before AO.

Khachanov vs Wawrinka in Qatar. First set went to 7-9 in the tiebreak, Stan took it.

Second set starting now.

Murray lost to Medvedev today, Novak beat fuscovics, but lost the opening set.

But more importantly, it's 2019, get out of this thread and get into this
