Are you hating on clay as a surface, or you're just hating because Rafa Nadal exists ?

I feel like the real surfaces power ranking is Grass>Clay>>>Hard court

15/20 years ago we had guys like Kuerten, Moya .... delivering awesome tennis on clay, and you could never predict the RG winner

Nishikori won the first set vs Seppi yesterday 6-0, but then lost the second set 2-6.

Tennis is weird.

And yeah, Thiem got whooped.

Serving at 5-6 to force a tie break, Zverev instantly falls to love - 30. He then hits a drop shot that barely clears the net to make it 15-30 instead of 0-40.

But it's all for naught anyway, as Nishikori eventually breaks to take the game, set, and match.

Zverev seems too inconsistent to trigger a new golden age of tennis.

I'm not sure we'll see another Nadal/Federer/Djokovic/Murray group for a very long time.

Have to agree with this for watching. However for actually playing the game the rankings would change for me.

Also agree here. Other than Johnny Mac and Becker very few attacking players have peaked early though. To me it's a function of learning proper shot selection. That's why if elShapo can focus his shot selection within a couple of years he will become a top 3 player. Right now he has the most effective weapons on tour, he just doesn't know how to string them together yet and of course physically has some growing to do.

If I'm a Tour Pro I'm swallowing pride and making 374 unforced errors on clay vs Rafa. It is not possible to beat him any other way than ripping everything. **** an honorable death. Soderling did that **** and the result was still in doubt.
