Hi All,
I am a long-time member, but infrequent poster. I am running a slightly unusual Super Bowl block pool.

Price: $15 per box

Prizes: $30 prize paid EVERY time the score changes during the game. Everything not paid out goes to the matcher of the final score. For example, on the opening drive NE scores a TD, the box with 6-0 gets a prize and then extra point is kicked so now 7-0 gets a prize. Typical Super Bowl has 15-30 scoring plays. Everything that's left (less $9 that goes to the website hosting the blocks) goes to the box that matches final score (e.g. NE wins 34-27, so box with NE 4/SEA 7 gets the rest of the money). Also, prize is also paid to the person with 0-0 at the start of the game.

Once all blocks are taken, pool will close and the website will generate the random numbers.

Pool is being run on officefootballpools.com

All payments via PAYPAL and must be received promptly.

PM me for details on how to sign up.

There use to be a football square pool near me that ran it the exact same way, paying for change of score and everything left over to the final score. It was $1,000 a square and ran for over 20 years.

I think the winner usually took home around $60,000

Wow. That is the biggest I've heard of for this type of pool. I've done $50/$100 in the past.

This is an great idea. Do you do the web hosting yourself or is there a site that runs this kind of service?

Its an independent site officefootballpool.com. You pick your squares there. When all squares are picked the website generates the random numbers. I hold the money (the website won't do that part) and I will send out the prizes via paypal on Monday.

Hope you'll join.

Agreed. Final score will likely get half to 2/3. Last year's SB had about 15 scoring plays so $450 would have gone out that way, with the other $1000 or so going to final score. Prior year had about 20 scoring plays ($600 during the game and $900 to final score).

every year i play in a $100/square pool with very similar rules except that every square that draws doubles (i.e. 1-1, 2-2, etc) automatically gets their money back and is free rolling for the rest of the game...nice catch for those that get 3-3 and 7-7. $100 for every single score change, etc. like AnyAce described. a couple of grand to the winners the past few years. i really like the format.
