The Rules:
- 20 teams, co-owners are encouraged but if you're an active poster it's not necessary. If you are a poster I don't recognize I will force you to take a co-owner.
- 11 picks each. Filling out a bench and a manager is nice, but the reality is that completing a draft with 220 picks is hard and the longer they go the harder it gets.
- Teams are on the clock for four hours at a time. Because of the likely worldwide diversity in owners, there is no dead period. A co-owner in a different time zone may be a good idea for you.
After the first round, do not expect to be pm'ed when you are up. If you are in the draft, you need to be actively checking the thread.
- Draft order is third round reversal snake, in other words ABBBABABABA
- EPL regs will be given priority in sign-up, should demand for spots outweigh supply.
Who is eligible:
Anybody that ever played in the Premiership. That means the 1992/93 season to this present moment.
What are the parameters for judging a player?
Mainly common sense. Some rules of thumb:
1. We're drafting players, not careers. How much a player contributed per game is generally more important than how much they contributed in total over the sum of their career.
2. While considering the above, I am not and nobody else is interested in extrapolation arguments according to your eyetest. Sample sizes will be taken into account and meaningful contributions (plurality emphasized) are just as, if not more important, than a player's ability.
3. Nothing the player did outside the premiership is eligible for consideration. That includes other tiers of english football.
4. Players are judged on a "Value Over Replacement Player" kind of philosophy relative to their era. There is zero interest in entertaining any kind of argument that "team X is better because it has all current players and current players are better across the board". That may or may not be true but really no one cares, and these arguments (which are often just troll attempts) ruin a large amount of the fun involved in stuff like this.
