You do know all drivers complain if they see something that could give them the win. Leclerc not having functioning lights was actually a big deal as that can be a DSQ. No idea why that is ignored as it is both a safety issue and hides important information about when harvesting is used. If you can get away with it then just disconnect the wires before every race.

or maybe you should attempt to extricate yourself from Max's jock?

I counted 4 egregious whines from Max this race and almost certainly missed some

All the drivers ***** about all sorts of **** during the race. The telecast just picks which one to replay for maximum "drama."

I guess people forgot how much Lewis constantly complained for the last few years.

It's almost like this year the always objective Brit Sky Sports is trying to make Max look bad because their BFF is no longer winning.

this

Every driver always thinks they are being the victim of some terrible injustice
This weekend, they just happened to play a couple of messages from Max
They can make any driver look terrible, by specifically picking his messages.

I would have liked to hear Alonso and Ocon during their battle btw. That would have been juicy

If it wasn't for Mercedes dominance I think we'd all want a different driver to root for other than Max. But since he's established himself as Hamilton's main foe we put up with him but I agree that I wish he'd cease his whinging and if I can relate it to Aus take a leaf out of his fellow online racing Redbull mate in Van Gisbergan. We're still probably 2 years away from Max getting to that level though.

For those that really wonder about whinging drivers, get F1 TV and listen to an entire race of a driver. Max is not even in the top 5 when it comes to whinging he is just the one fighting at the front that gets broadcasted. Of course those drivers that never get to battle for position at all whinge the least.

I stopped watching F1 because of the whinging. I started watching more football because they barely ever complain to the referee or anything.

Don't stop watching it. The director just needs to play less of Max's radio but I guess there is some interest in it as we are talking about it.

It's been a while since I've been, if the surface on the Strip is anything like I remember they'll have some serious resurfacing work to get done before then...

This was my initial thought. The strip surface is terrible in many spots. I'm sure they will have to do a complete resurfacing

Not to worry it will be perfectly smooth come race time.

Looks like old Red Bull with all these DNFs

Not sure what Lewis was whining about on the radio at the end? Assume it was George finishing ahead of him but that was the safety car …unless they told him he couldn’t catch and overtake George which I would doubt?

Also wasn’t sure if there were Mclaren team orders? Danny never really tried to go at Lando?

My guess it was just frustration at the end because George was actually pulling away from Lewis on pace and Lewis knew he couldn't keep up with him anymore.

As for Dan - well I think he's happy to play 2nd fiddle to Lando this year as he gets set up by McLaren for his next career in Indycar next year.

Lewis said after the race that his complaint was about an engine issue of some sort. Not really sure how much sense that makes given what he actually said but the complaining happened at a time when he had been just over 1s back from Russell for a few laps, having closed up at 0.1-0.3s for a number of laps to get to that point. It was long before Russell started pulling away so that guess makes no sense bundy. It was almost certainly something the team told him that prevented him trying to pass Russell - whether it was genuinely because of an engine issue or otherwise.

Mercedes and Red Bull need to solve their issues quickly or this years driver's championship is going to be very boring indeed.

Mercedes certainly looked better this weekend than previously but they have a lot of pace to find

Not only need RedBull and Mercedes to fix their issues but Ferrari not to improve. They are all bringing upgrades the next races and if Ferrari finds as much improvements from those as the others then this WDC can be decided very early. Was fun to watch a race live again. Vettel broke down right in front of us during practice and they took a long time to make the car safe. Also think the fans would be happy to pay his $5000 fine as walking on track to wave to fans and his moped drive were great.

i have faith in ferrari's unrivalled ability to **** everything up in the end. max will win the championship in the final race due to some hilarious pit stop strategy blunder

too late for mercades unless they have a eureka moment. lewis' amazing record where he's won at least one race every year since 2007 is probably under threat

Italian reliability is…Italian reliability!

I have more faith in Merc to improve their speed than in Red Bull/Honda to improve their reliability but whether it will be enough, IDK. Ferrari look really fast

I’d take the over on Lewis at 1.5 GP wins this season

Congrats on the merc's performance. All is not lost it seems.

The Ferrari's are ridiculous - that much speed boating and still to be as quick as they are.
