I'd say most of it is due to his money as they had already made big payments for this season lol

And yah they're delusional enough to think that Nikita would've been in Q3 in this car. I am a bit curious to see if he could've made Q2 or if he still would've been crap even in a much better car. He's obviously terrible, but could still beat guys like Latifi w/a car advantage imo.

Even though LeClerc lead almost the entire race it still felt very competitive with the top three teams. Hopefully it will continue and we won't see a return of the boring races where one team wins by a minute.

Anyone else get the feeling as there was no doubt the Honda was the slipperiest down the straight - more so than Mercedes but feel that once Mercedes have the speed boat effect sorted that will be reversed but does anyone get the feeling that red bull now they are in charge of the engines and keys to the mansion just decided to say **** it let's turn them up and Honda providing customer support on the sidelines warned against it but in the end had no power to stop them.

Turning the engines up would not have resulted in a failure in the first race so that was definitely not part of it. Also don't understand why people think Mercedes has just a single issue and once they fix that they are back into the mix. That might be true but it is much more likely they will be clawing back the deficit slowly as it is not like Ferrari is sitting still while Mercedes tries to figure out what they did wrong. The next Mercedes upgrade will hopefully bring them where Ferrari is now but by then Ferrari has improved their performance by a couple of tenths as well.

RT - this is excellent gif work.

F1 needs to decide whether it is down with racing in places where there are despotic regimes. They obviously pay well, but it comes with risks. If they decide they don't like it any more then they need to lose or replace a quarter of the calendar.

This circuit has always struck me as one of the more dangerous just because of potential crashes like that.
