They probably felt like they had to admit he was there because the evidence that he was was so overwhelming. Even still, if they put him on the stand, he has to explain why he took the killer(s) of his friends home and hung out with them for a few days and never reported what happened.
He was ****ed every way from the weekend, there weren't any wins here.
