I understand about burden of proof , but I think it is asking a lot to put him there and expect a jury to believe he somehow wasn't involved. Anyway, I am glad he is in jail, I think he would have kept on killing if let free.

I doubt it really made a difference, but his attorney definitely shouldn't have conceded it. You can make the same exact argument but cloud it in hypothetical. "Even if he was there, ..."

Oh it's 100% dumb to be sure, but really, it doesn't seem like it mattered.

It is true that juries unfortunately admit to taking a failure to defend oneself as incriminating when they shouldn't, but either way, Ahern wasn't escaping the noose here.

I wonder what goes through this dude's mind now that he's a convicted felon facing life in prison. Seriously. Imagine looking around your 6x8' cell after having your ass cheeks spread and squatting so some dude makes sure you don't have contraband and realizing "This is my home until I die." Talk about an (brown) eye opener.

This post would have sounded so much more intelligent with about 20 fewer words.

The way the law is written a not guilty verdict can almost never be 'incorrect' because "reasonable doubt" is such a vague and subjective thing.

So after every insane acquittal you have to listen to all these nits talk about how it was a perfectly fine verdict, despite the fact that the obviously guilty person didn't get convicted.
pretty much

This thread reminds me: I need to start watching legal TV shows so I can be more informed.

If the prosecution spends 2-3 weeks building the 'he was there' case, maybe the defense thinks they can nullify the impact of that case by simply saying 'yeah we'll give you that. But you can't prove he actually did it. Neener neener, you must acquit!'

Eh, I think like 30-40% of murders go unsolved, and if you eliminate killing your husband/wife its probably like a coinflip. His VORM is probably pretty small

Well, according to this article:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...din-Lloyd.html

he's on suicide watch due to PCP withdrawal. Drug dealers are attracted to athletes and celebrities who come into big money like flies are attracted to poop. Besides his mother and his fiancé, his dealer must have burst into tears when the jury foreman announced the verdict.

Pretty sure AHern has 4 bodies and 1 attempted body (dude he shot in the face) and he would never have got caught for the first three so he's pretty good at murder. He only got caught when he killed someone he knew which was dumb. I say he's an average killer

I bet he's been sober a while. His pcp withdrawals were probably countered by extreme concentration on explaining he was innocent, expending all his energy. Now that he's been sober a while I bet it is all hitting home this week now that there is no hope and nothing that psychotic energy can go to anymore.

Cue the first drugs in prison with no hope, and I put the o/u on violent altercation, od, or suicide at 1 yr.

This is pretty LOL. Was he under suicide watch while in prison on trial or just after his conviction?

You people are such wanters. I doubt he really is much affected. People with the chemical makeup to allow them to murder multiple people in cold blood really don't care about anything. Whether he's free or in prison he likely cares more about not being disrespected than anything else.

I doubt that here bc this dude took a turn when his father died at 17?

After the 5/6 year pcp binge, I bet he is very much thinking about such things now.

I'm not apologizing. I bet he is 30-50% sociopath no doubt, but that went full tilt after pops died.

Then pcp yo.

I guess a good simple question was how many people he roughed up before dad died when he was a teen. Would tell a lot.

For all I know or care he was burying bodies then, but I think this was a heightened multiyear pcp binge.

Anyone have the article of him visiting Belichick the year before in Wisconsin? Dude was spun. He literally is probably now just coming back down.

Gosh, I don't know. Maybe if you had bothered to read the article you might have figured that out.

Aaron pulled a jury from his upper class white neighborhood. He had like literally 0% chance of getting off with that jury. Did you see the Jury? He needed an OJ jury pool to have even a shot.

Meh, don't compare this to the OJ jury. Back then DNA evidence was so sophisticated that no one understood it. Also, the prosecution made the huge mistake of making OJ try on the gloves while wearing a pair of sterile gloves. Even OJ was surprised they didn't fit. Add Johnny C. was the GOAT and he's found innocent.

Although it wouldn't surprise me that the AH jury took into account the OJ jury.

What screwed up the OJ trial was that LA cops were provably racists and almost without doubt planting evidence and everybody who lived there knew it. Also OJ was nothing like Hernandez. Much more of an icon.
