From the sounds of it I doubt NBA players will actually play. It's going to just be a bunch of scrubs who already play in FIBA's 3v3 tournaments.

Idk but growing up in Western Mass when Calapari was our coach and UMass was good at basketball we held a massive 3on3 basketball tournament festival for a weekend in late April and I looked forward to it every ****ing year like it was christmas. u10 was the youngest division and I started when I was 8, and I'm still hurt by the fact that we lost 14-0 by some 10 year olds my first year.

In my older years we just ran pick and rolls every play. Either take the layup if it's open or kick it out for the open 3. Beat a few scrub teams from upstate NY, then in like the quarterfinals you inevitably meet a team from Harlem, Hartford or Springfield, get waxed, go to the main court and watch Lou Roe dunk on some weekend warriors.

GOAT childhood memories. I'd love to watch it in the olympics no matter who's playing in it.

Speaking of non-regulation balls, I was stunned that they lower the rims for the famed Rucker Park summer league to make dunking easier.

If not, then make it All Time. Could run Jordan, LeBron, and Shaq and get a near automatic 1 every single time and play <50% defense on GSW's 2's. Or if you want to match 2's, run Ray Allen, Bird, and Dirk. Any better combos out there?

Hack-a-Shaq would make Shaq essentially worthless on offense in 3v3. Add in that whoever he is defending could get an open 3 at will and he'd be run off the court.

Team Steph is still a favorite. 1s/2s and loser takes ball is a huge edge for a team with 3 of the greatest shooters of all time. KD and Klay are no slouches on D either.

Whats optimal USA A-D lineups if NBA players could play?

1) Curry, Durant, Lebron

2) Harden, Kawhi, Brow

3) CP3, PG13, Cousins

4) Westbrook, Klay, KAT

5) Wall, Butler, Blake

I don't really see the point in including a big guy ever.

The top 5 teams should probably composed primarily of tall guys who can shoot well, defend well, and are decent rebounders. The exceptions to the above would be ultra elite shooters or creators like Curry, Lebron, and maybe CP3/Kyrie although even then I think I'd rather just have Giannis than CP3/Kyrie

Durant Lebron Kawhi would just beat up everyone and get all the rebounds. Not most efficient scoring but it wouldn't matter

1s and 2s is fine. Its how 3 on 3 is actually played in pickup games. A 12 second shot clock is just super fast though. I have a bigger problem with that than with the scoring.

A smaller ball is a complete joke. I can't even imagine the point of that unless its strictly to try to make sure American NBA players don't play.

I mentioned this a while back but now might be the right time for it. A 3v3 all time draft (with maybe 2 reserves?) could be fun.

Like a bunch of other people, I can't get over the smaller ball. What's the point? It's like they were afraid people might take this event somewhat seriously, so they threw that in there to make sure they didn't.

They should make the hoop 40 feet high and play with a freshly harvested pineapple.
