The once and for all final update:

I've finished everything. and live-blogging itt, top 50 closure and the much anticipated unveiling of the top 30 with epic competition winner will take place, (probably throughout) tomorrow. Maybe starting pretty early too. Who knows how long it could end up taking...

And if there are still people out there interested, I would say they have 10-11 hours or so to PM me an entry for this here:

not gonna bother trying to think like Bjørn here, probably a lost cause...

wow, this was way harder than i thought it'd be. started making a shortlist, and before i did much digging already had ~100 names. make a quick shorter lists of ~35, struggled to get down to 30. and that's without knowing much about a lot of the leagues, digging deep, and mostly ignoring players on sick heaters this season (so i hope people's lists aren't super form based, but they probably will be).

I started trying to think who Bjorn really likes and thinking of his other list but in the end I gave up and just did my top 30 with the Man United/Premiership bias removed as much as I could muster.

Didn't he say he was going to lean towards recent form more than he previously did? That makes #3 very hard for me. And after 4 it's just impossible.

Thanks for the recent entries. Only glanced over them but there do seem quite a lot of agreement on the top spots (not just 1 and 2..).

Anyway, not quite ready to go juuust yet, but maybe in an hour or so. That's the target anyway.

Okay, so we've all got Messi and Ronaldo as 1 and 2 respectively. 3rd and 4th is quite tough after that imo there is a few players that you would think hmm he could be third, or he just edges it.

But yeah I started messing with the lower half of the list which I hadn't looked at in a while and that is just not advisable (just like that 30 mintues wasted) and I'll stay away from that for now.
