Unfortunately I haven't seen enough of Kroos to really have any qualified opinion on him.

And yeah besides of course Adler a couple of others you mentioned didn't make it either but a good prediction most definitely.

I really hope Podolski isn't on the list, but I'm quite sure that he is
No comment.

I don't expect a comment Björn, it would ruin the whole thing a little bit

I got stuck writing what was kind of a "halfway report" on the various leagues, so now the list is back instead, and this time for good! Surely!

Newest entries:

162: Lorik Cana - Sunderland - Albania
161: Carlton Cole - West Ham - England
160: Lukas Podolski - FC Köln - Germany

Not too long writeups but some pretty interesting players I think. All of them like so many others pretty tough to rank as well. I'm not sure if any of these could go even higher. Maybe Carlton Cole if he hadn't been injured.

The list so far:

200: Alberto Zapater - Genoa - Spain
199: Nikola Zigic - Valencia - Serbia
198: Sergio Ramos - Real Madrid - Spain
197: Lucio - Inter - Brazil
196: John Obi Mikel - Chelsea - Nigeria
195: Sergio Busquets - Barcelona - Spain
194: Philippe Mexes - Roma -France
193: Anatolij Tymoshchuk - Bayern München - Ukraine
192: Theo Walcott - Arsenal - England
191: Aaron Ramsey - Arsenal - Wales
190: Pepe - Real Madrid - Portugal
189: Sergei Semak - Rubin Kazan - Russia
188: Alberto Aquilani - Liverpool - Italy
187: Clarence Seedorf - Milan - Holland
186: Diego Capel - Sevilla - Spain
185: Yossi Benayoun - Liverpool - Israel
184: Riccardo Montolivo - Fiorentina - Italy
183: Kolo Toure - Manchester City -Côte d'Ivoire
182: Yuri Zhirkov - Chelsea - Russia
181: Martin Demichelis - Bayern Munich - Argentina
180: Marouane Fellaini - Everton - Belgium
179: Cristian Zapata - Udinese - Colombia
178: Tim Cahill - Everton - Australia
177: Paul Scholes - Manchester United - England
176: Arda Turan - Galatasaray - Turkey
175: Ezequiel Lavezzi - Napoli - Argentina
174: Klaas Jan Huntelaar - AC Milan - The Netherlands
173: William Gallas - Arsenal - France
172: Shaun Wright Phillips - Manchester City - England
171: Pavel Pogrebnyak - VBF Stuttgart - Russia
170: Darijo Srna - Shakhtar Donetsk - Croatia
169: Bojan Krkic and Pedro - Barcelona - Spain
168: Ronaldinho - AC Milan - Brazil
167: Tranquillo Barnetta - Bayer Leverkusen - Switzerland
166: Stiliyan Petrov - Aston Villa - Bulgaria
165: Amauri - Juventus - Brazil
164: Dirk Kuyt - Liverpool - The Netherlands
163: Bruno Silva - FC Porto - Portugal
162: Lorik Cana - Sunderland - Albania
161: Carlton Cole - West Ham - England
160: Lukas Podolski - FC Köln - Germany

All writeups HERE

edit: hey someone should try putting the 40 so far in their order! I almost tried it myself just now, since there are some I would definitely change, but got dizzy... Consider it a challenge.

Pretty amazing that he could even be considered for this list, with basically just over a year of very good form behind him. He has gone from being an underachiever, to a hard-working back to goal forward that his own fans were too blind to see his value to the team to one of the best in the league. Well done him I guess.

Both suffer from inconsistency and don't contribute much to defense which means their attacking contributions have to be very good to compensate.
I think this is harsh on SWP, he contributes a great deal defensively. He tracks back a lot, tackles well for his size and runs for 90 mins also he actually played a few games at RB early in his career. His goal-scoring record is also much better than players like Walcott, Lennon, Park etc.

Chelsea was the wrong move for him and set him back but he is still a great player and worthy of his place in the list imo

i always rated him highly(west ham fans didnt?)
target men get underrated A LOT because their game/goal ratio is rarely impressive and people dont see how important they are for the team

one thing he really has to improve on is his "hectic" behaviour under pressure sometimes.
I remember him passing the ball straight to opponents too often and therefore giving them great counter attacking opportunities.

Bjoern, Podolski sucks and is still very overrated outside of germany(germans who see him day in day out know how medicore he is)

ughh Podolski puts me on tilt so bad. I got into a huge debate with a man utd fan who said Podolski > Berba and his reasoning was he runs more and has better performances in bigger games.. seriously wtf?????

When he first got into the side he missed a lot of chances and would dwell on the ball a lot. The treatment that he got from large sections of our support was totally unacceptable - like you say, he does a lot for the team by shielding the ball and bringing others into play and plays with his back to goal, hence he doesn't score so much (although he has improved his finishing considerably this year). He has gone from being our fifth choice striker when he joined to our first choice, partly because we have sold a lot of them, but partly because he has turned himself into a superb player. Sadly for us, he is too good for our side at the moment and will doubtless move on to pastures new in the Summer.

He supposedly is a bit thick, hence your comments on his "hectic" behaviour, however he often gives the ball away as we seem to like to play a formation without anyone getting within 30 yards of him, hence he gets isolated.

The times I have seen Cole this year he basically looks like a 65% version of Didier Drogba. Really physical, puts defenders under a lot of pressure, and does a good job holding the ball up.

What is Bojan's window at Barca? Will he want out if he doesn't start getting more playing time (seems he's playing a bit more this year)? Also Barca's interest in guys like Robinho makes me wonder what they think of Bojan.

If anything I'd think he's not playing more this year, Pedro for instance has played a lot more than he has afaik

Well I agree with your point about his consistency, he goes through patches of good and bad form which makes it more difficult to judge a player and he has been pretty bad at times when playing for England recently. Even when going through a bad patch though he still puts in a lot of work for the team.

I don't see Bojan going anywhere, isn't he 2nd choice behind Zlatan as the main striker? Or do they play Henry there? I don't remember him playing the wing forward positions much (maybe I'm wrong about this) so Pedro isn't really direct competition. Anyway he is 19 and has been at Barca since he was 9, why would he leave?

I think he'll keep getting more time and in three or four years when Zlatan (28) has faded a bit Bojan will be their main striker.
