He's a good runner and this was probably his best chance. I feel bad for him, but he ran well.

Good for Bobby Finke though.

This was actually a cool race. Finke went out insanely fast and basically just dared everyone to keep up. No one had enough left in the tank at the end to catch him. It was tactical in the same way that distance running events are tactical.

That wasn't the first time that Bol has bossed the anchor leg of a relay. She did exactly the same thing in the woman's 4x400 at last year's World Championships.
