I would love to see the US send some actual good players who didn't make the team or even players who have played for the 5 on 5 team and got gold try and get one here. Like there's a ton of variants for other sports, so why not treat this as the same?

Even if they didn't a roster with Jaylen Brown, Jalen Brunson, and then maybe a big with Zion would be sick. All they have to do is take it seriously, but that's a little harder to convince NBA players to do.

Or the Olympics could just try and not run them concurrently and you could have players play in both formats.

Brunson is rehabbing his broken hand injury, but I agree with your notion.

Also 1.5 months ago I went to cancel Peacock monthly sub and they offered me 6 months at $0.99/month.

I always thought Ping Pong was stupid and should NOT be in the Olympics but I watched a match today and wow was it intense.

But it’s still stupid and shouldn’t be an Olympic sport.

table tennis wouldn't be anywhere near the top of the list of sports I would cut. It's one of the most important sports for 30-40% of the people on the planet

You need the perfect combination of natural ability and skill to compete in ping pong.

Part of the skill being able the ability to outplay and out think an opponent.

No way on removing ping pong. Deserving and hype af.

Well there's actually some pretty current stories about "contaminated food" causing Chinese athletes to test positive. The reality is Chinese (and other countries, very notably Russia) have far less stringent doping controls. There is absolutely rampant cheating going on.

Apparently WADA doesn't push back enough on them, either.

I am not saying that there is not PEDs happening at all. I am certain they are everywhere to a greater degree than almost everyone realises.

I am pointing out the double standard.

You are also right that it is very unlikely that China will get targeted given their size and power. Olympics is after all a business and TV show.

It’s one thing to ban the Kazach O lifting team. Quite another to do the same thing to the biggest country in the world with the second biggest economy

WADA certainly has been pushing back on them and targeting them, to the point that they are now complaining about it. On everage, their swimmers are being tested every other day.
