I'm pretty sure that no other country does it that way. You're basically saying that a bronze is worth the same as a gold - C'mon! In some sports (eg boxing) they give out two of them for every gold they give out.
a simple 3-2-1 point system would be best
and I was wondering why the boxer last night who lost the semi-final automatically got a bronze
