you ever sit and think about the trades in draft day (2014)?

Quote:
The Browns start with the 7th Overall Pick, have scouted and want to take a LB who is projected to be available with that pick. The Seahawks have the 1st Overall Pick and want the top prospect in the draft, a QB, but they also want to trade down. The Seahawks trade the 1st Overall Pick to the Browns for the 7th Overall pick and three future 1st Rounders. However the Browns have not done any homework on the top prospect in the draft, the QB they traded up for.

The Browns start to scout the QB and decide they dont want him. They take the LB they were going to draft at 7th Overall with the 1st Overall Pick. They then trade three 2nd Rounders for the Jaguars 6th Overall Pick, putting them one spot ahead of Seattle at 7th Overall. Seattle still wants the QB they were going to draft at 1st Overall so they trade back the Browns 7th Overall Pick and three future 1st Rounders on top of adding in a PR for the 6th Overall Pick. The Seahawks draft the QB they wanted at 1st Overall and the Browns draft a RB with the 7th Overall Pick.

they should make a sequel about the jets, who trade up to #1 and take a fullback

this kind of thing?

https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profoo...nteed-contract

yeah, I'd be very surprised if Cousins will move away from fully guaranteed now, given he's a pure free agent, but maybe there's a situation he's desperate to get into that encourages him to change his mind

I reckon the Steelers should be in for him and the Rooneys might be the kind of owners who won't go fully guaranteed.

the Jets taking a QB with their #1 is what we should all be dreaming of

That would be so awesome, fingers crossed.

Shoutout to the GOAT special teamer Matthew Slater for a great career

I believe he called the coin tosses vs the Falcons in SB 51 and Chiefs in '19 AFCGG as well

Would think he can get a media job easily

Go to a new stadium every year. Places I've been:

Buffalo
Detroit
Seattle
Kansas City
New Orleans
New England (2018 AFC Championship)
Miami (Superbowl LIV, not Dolphins)
Las Vegas
Tennessee
Dallas

Guessing this year will be LA, SF, Arizona or Denver. Will need to wait for schedule to come out to see what looks appetizing.

Vikings are being dumb if they don't pay Cousins. Who else are you going to get?

It's like they are looking the results of the last 2 seasons and not what actually happened. Ran super hot 2 years ago and everyone knew you were frauds. Defense was bad and they lose predictably in the playoffs. This year, lose every one score game instead of win, QB gets hurt, and that's that. But wow, "look at our record the year before." Yet the only real difference between the two last seasons is that the defense got a lot better.

Pay Cousins, find a RB, and they can easily be a top 5 team next year if the defense is good again. SF basically just told us that if your QB is Cousins, you can win the SB. Won't be easy, but the alternative is almost certainly way worse.

He doesn’t need to stay there either. Maybe he feels slighted or wants a different challenge. Although I’d want to stay and pass to those receivers

A couple mocks have the Vikings picking a QB at #11. That would be a pretty solid reason to not give Cousins guaranteed money beyond one year.

If there were ever a time to bail on an overpaid, old, low ceiling QB, now would be it.

On paper they are likely to be last in that division with Cousins. And nobody knows how he recovers from his injury.

Maybe a year if that gets around the cap hit. Let him sign somewhere else.

Kyler+ #4 for #1 pick. Who says no?

Bears could also trade Fields for let’s say a high 2 and a 3 and then all of a sudden they have a franchise QB, the #4 and 9 picks for Harrison and another stud, plus 4 day 3 picks

(If Bears say no…what about if Cards add Buddy Baker in as well?)

Kyler’s remaining contract works out to be less than $40m per year so less than Daniel Jones money

Bears probably wouldn't take Murray for next year's 6th. They are trying to contend, not throw in the towel.

Who would be the franchise QB in that scenario?

I like him more than others itt and think he's still got the potential to improve, but even for those that don't...he's basically an average outcome from a 'QB taken at 1' perspective.

If you go back to 07 his first 5 seasons are...

better than Jamarcus, Bryce (only 1 season but I'm calling it), Jameis, Mayfield and Bradford
worse than Burrow, Luck, Stafford and Cam but not by much (Cam's 5th season was the mvp but before then they are pretty similar)
in same region as Goff. Trevor too early to tell but he probably ends up in the 'better' category

I’d have to imagine it costs arizona WAY more than 4 for the bears to take that deal

Harrison isn’t worth a qb that’s worse than Caleb (and I don’t think that high of Caleb) and a loss of 35 mil in cap space

I started out with Kyler, Budda and 4 but actually thought that might be too much. But I would think very seriously about this if I was Chicago

Do Bears fans seriously think Murray is a step up from Fields, even without the cap hit?

Bears can draft a capable QB with a rookie deal, then deal Fields for more draft capital. Why would they burn cap money with Murray?

Let AZ chew on that contract.

I'm not a Murray fan by any means, but it wasn't that long ago that he was the MVP favorite at least halfway through the season. As far as NFL QBs go, he doesn't suck.

Edit: I hate his contact and wanted them to have a top 2 pick and draft a new QB

vikings: its problem. they can't afford to pay cousins, jefferson and hunter, but they need all 3 to be as competitive as they were the last couple years. the good defensive players are all getting old and i don't think even brian flores can cover for them next year.

i was a cousins doubter my whole life until last year when i realized he was actually playing top 10... even in primetime. nonetheless, he's aging, coming off achilles tear, and they probably only have like 1-2% SB equity if they resign him with their current roster. the longsighted move is ditch him, trade jefferson, and roll the dice on a QB in the draft, but that's easier said than done for any GM.

With someone like Murray does it really matter if he's kinda good or kinda bad?

Unless your QB is a superstar or on his rookie contract, getting to the Superbowl seems to be very tough. And getting to the SB should be the goal for every rebuilding team.

Caleb Williams isn't saving the Bears year one, right now they're already favoured over the Bears with Cousins yet to sign
