It is a good time to be a Dallas Sports Fan though. Rangers win their first ever World Series, Mavericks 1 up in the West Finals, Stars in the West Finals, Cowboys loaded up in FA. It's all rainbows and unicorns here fellas!
Dallas Mavs gonna go all the way.
Then Cubez will draft Bronny and sign LeBron to the MLE or heck even vet min. Then they'll repeat.

Would be hilarious if the Mavs won the WC and Dumont gave Cuban the Mutombo finger about touching the trophy.

Chiefs going to the White House on Friday. Maybe Butker can give Biden advice on being a good Catholic.

There's good-natured ribbing, and then there is just cruelty disguised as a joke.

But they did pick Zeke the Geriatric back up off the street. Jerruh taking active steps to re-live the old Glory Hole days. Oh, wait a second ...

You would be a huge upgrade over the Dolphins brain trust because that is absolutely what they should do. You are never shipping it with Tua. Ever.

Also no one else is gonna pay him. Let him sit out. Let him walk. IDGAF. He'll come crawling back eventually. He has no better options.

If the Jags are dumb enough to consider giving TLaw a big contract. Someone out there will pay Tua if Miami doesn't.

Daniel Jones got 4 years/$160mil with $81mil fully guaranteed.

Kyler Murray's extension is for 5 years, $230mil with $121mil already fully guaranteed and another 2x $20mil-ish becoming guaranteed at the start of the next two league years.

I have a very hard time understanding how anyone following the business side of the NFL believes that nobody is going to pay Tua.

Trevor too.

Everyone forgets that the GM’s first priority is to keep their job and the alternative to re-signing a 1st Rd QB is far riskier for them and their job security

I'm not sure how literally you're taking that, but I'm confident no one else besides the Phins will pay him even Daniel Jones money. Sure, he can get some nonzero amount, so in a literal sense someone may pay him, but it will be far less than what he desired.

Unfortunately we will never find out because the idiot Dolphins are absolutely going to pay him.

Keeping your own guy is a different proposition. There is all that familiarity with the system and the other players built in.

As a result Tua is worth more to Miami. That is the case for most starting QBs. The difference is that Tua is near worthless to anyone else. That's not the case with a real franchise QB like Mahomes or even a journeyman level talent like Jones.

Tua is a deeply-flawed, system QB who is one medium hit away from never being able to play again.

Whatever you think of tua the 2 best qbs to hit the open market in the last quarter century are old ass cousins off an Achilles tear and brees off a serious shoulder injury

#3 in that scenario is a tossup between tua and culpepper. If the dolphins don’t give him a laughable deal someone else absolutely will

The biggest problem with letting tua walk is you’re betting your job and your career that you can find a replacement for him and fast. And the dolphins will have a low pick in the draft so they’re already behind the 8 ball and they are the direct beneficiaries of the Niners trying that bullshit and absolutely failing. The difference is when the Niners tried Womp was still there and playing

Basically if the dolphins don’t already have Tua’s replacement already on their roster it’s too late

PIT

DAL - If they let Dak walk

This is why we'll never get to put my theory to the test. Everyone generally pays their non-dumpster-fire QBs.

If the Dolphins pass on him, I seriously doubt anyone is giving him a better than Daniel Jones contract (which he would presumably find insulting if the Phins offered exactly DJ's contract)

If by snap sign, you mean for more than Daniel Jones money, then no way. If the price is right, sure, anyone may sign him.

I thought Draft Day would suck but watched it cuz I like Kevin Costner movies so I figured, hey why not?

It was pretty damn good.

Browns gave up 3 first round picks and $230mil fully guaranteed for Watson.

The thought that not a single team outside Miami would give Tua $100mil+ guaranteed sounds crazy to me. David Carr got $100mil practically guaranteed (unless Saints want to take the huge dead cap hit).

Sorry gents for my silly comment gaining traction there. Yes every GM would pay Tua, I wouldn't and of course will never be a GM. I was bascially just saying Mr Tua is lying about who he is. His real name is Joe. He will be out of the league soon and Miami will be on the hook. Will I be sad? No. I remember a certain Marino "pretending" to spike the ball. Bush league, LOW CLASS.

I would think it is highly likely that the Dolphins GM and Tua's agent have a better idea of which other clubs would pay Tua $100m+ guaranteed than us idiots on the internet. And if no one else was gonna pay him, they wouldn't either.

That sounds extremely plausible. However, you greatly overestimate the morons running the show for the Phins.
