Allegedly. According to his lawyers and his wife he didn't do any of that and therefore was never charged.

Just isn't a smart financial decision to get the father of your kids in trouble before he can make the family another $100mil+.

He trashed the one...and then it was proven she lied.

If I was speculating, there's fire somewhere with him. But of what we know publicly, the only accuser that's sued him was basically proven to be lying, and if that's the case then he has every right to bash her publicly imo.

He has every right to do whatever he wants in that regard but there's a pretty good reason why nobody who wants to continue to have a career in the entertainment industry does it like that. Just STFU and letting the lawyers handle it while you read out a prepared statement (see Ohtani) significantly increases your chances for stuff to go away as quietly as possible.

I think I like Trevor Bauer even more now

I’d also counter that guys who are willing to bash their accuser publicly are probably more likely to be innocent (especially if she was proven to be lying) whereas guys who hide behind lawyers are most likely guilty.

I realize that’s not good business advice but makes me like you way better as a person and despise the people who hide behind lawyers and get away with **** they absolutely did

Don't you also open up the possibility for this to happen in the future if he just STFU?

Potentially but it might be worth it if that kicks stuff far down the road. Especially for people with a career that ends on the wrong side of 30 anyway.

From a business perspective it might actually be the smart thing to do to pay the accusers off, no matter if you did it or not. With Bauer it looks like he did something that wasn't criminal but still pretty far down the "not cool" road. If he had decided to pay them instead of going public or at least before the situation reached a point of no return he might be the Dodgers opening day starter this week.

Again, totally different from a situation like Aroldis Chapman where his wife probably went to talk to a lawyer who let her know that she has to make a decision between having that ***hole pay for what he did to her and having their kids grow up with an 8 figure trust fund. I think for both Chapman and German their girlfriend turned into their wife at some point after the incident?

I don't disagree with any of this. But I do like standing up to things like this where it seems acceptable for people to extort public figures.

I agree with you Randall but to madlex' point look at how much more Bauer has gone through the ringer
