They should do a new baseball episode with Judge, Ohtani, etc.

Heck, McMuffin could write the episode.

Rōki Sasaki just became a free agent.

The right-hander throws 100 mph, is renowned for a devastating splitter and turned 23 last week. He is so determined to pitch in the majors that he will arrive before his dream contract arrives.

If Sasaki waited two years, he would be treated as a full-fledged, professional free agent and could seek the kind of 12-year, $325 million mega-deal that Yoshinobu Yamamoto signed with the Dodgers last December.

Where do you predict he lands?

The crazy thing to me is his team actually letting him go. They said no last year but decided to this year. Yamaotos team got like 60m for him. Sasakis team won't be getting much for him.

I can’t see the Yankees getting him

1. They’re going to pay bigly for Soto if they even keep him at all
2. If they lose Soto they aren’t a desirable destination at all for a guy who can’t make megabucks on his first deal

Guessing Mets, Doyers or Phillies

So at what point do we just give up on the idea of baseball? Do these *********** have to get Soto too or is snell enough?

If Doyers get Soto too then in the World Series they have to go up against the AL All Star team.

Spoiler:
They’d still be favored.

They’re not gonna get Soto. I’m leaning Red Sox right now. Dodgers don’t need him anyway. Just resign Teo.

Teams should be thrilled when guys opt out after 5 great years.
If the Mets could sign him for 5 years instead of 15 they would.

Instead they usually make the mistake of signing the guy for more years and more money.

It wouldn’t guarantee **** in October.

If it was that easy to buy titles Arod would have several rings instead of just one.

I have no clue how to read the implications of this deal

This was probably the most unicorn contract in baseball history to this point (and I include Ohtani when I say that). The best hitter alive hitting free agency at 26 doesn’t happen, and he can either opt out at 31 while at the prime of his career if baseball continues on its trajectory or if there’s any kind of retraction financially the Mets are on the hook for another decade at 5 million more per year

No matter what happens the only thing I know for sure is lol trout

The Yankees and ace left-hander Max Fried have reached agreement on an 8-year, $218 million contract, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand on Tuesday. It is the largest guarantee in MLB history for a left-handed pitcher.
