In a race situation, IT IS the follow car's responsibility and it always has been, and it always will be.

this isn't like qualifying where there are cars on track with vast differing closing speeds... or a position where one driver is short braking/brake checking to get the following driver in trouble. If you get into an accident on road and if you are the car behind/following, you are at fault.

Some driver are overly prone to driving mistakes at the elite level... Stroll is at the top of that list. I feel bad for him because I am sure if you were to try and face off with Lance in matched cars, he would blow you out of the water... but I feel even worse for those drivers that his misjudgement affected thru no fault of there own.

We think Stroll is ahead of Yuki for mistakes?

Tbh there haven’t been as many ‘Tsunodas’ in the last year or so

Looks like a good portion of that new HP sponsorship is going to Newey

If RB loses Newey, This is a massive ball fumble! You have the GOAT engineer/designer/High IQ aero guy. You do everything in your power to never lose a talent like this.

Only way to lose him is with old age or retirement. Where is he doesn’t go to one of your competitors.

Is a lone 65 years old really the sole reason for developing such a fast car?

Don't they have staff of hundreds of people who combine their efforts in designing, developing, testing, etc.. ?

Naively asking as I don't know the guy but I am quite skeptical that performance is so tied to one person and not an organization.

supposedly he is the real deal. people say he has some sort of savant-like insight into air flow

as you say he has a huge team designing the widgets, but he sets the overall design concept each time a bunch of new regulations comes out, and has basically never missed in 35 years

he was the lead designer on the early 90s williams (4 titles), late 90s/early 2000s mclaren (2 titles) and all the red bulls (7 and counting). his cars were also one of the main competitors to ferrari in the 2000s and mercedes in the 2010s, both of which had insurmountable horsepower advantages over the field

At this point, I don’t see any evidence that Lewis can out drive LeClerc

People are getting overly excited about the Newey news. If RedBull refuses to release him then the earliest he can join Ferrari or Aston Martin is 2027. Then it takes at least a year to make a big impact on the design of the car. Hamilton is not going to stay around that long and won't be able to beat Leclerc at that age. Same for Alonso although he doesn't need help to beat Stroll.

I'm not sure I'm favoring Lewis over Sainz either.

RedBull released him from his contract which is surprising. Lots of speculation on why they would do this ranging from Newey threatening to release dirt on Horner to RedBull not wanting to screw over the person that gave them so many successes. Means he is moving to another team otherwise no point in asking for a release and that team is most likely Ferrari.
