We’ll see. I do think there’s a chance they end up with the top pick. Whether that ends up being Maye or Williams we’ll also see. Long way to go

Their schedule isn’t terribad…I mean, how could it be in the NFC South, but if they get to 1-4/1-5 or sth, they might start properly tanking and start trading vets

And Jay Feely

Got a hunch that Bakes is gonna kick serious ass in Tampa

Ravens no longer taking the preseason seriously

IIRC I saw +950 odds (3rd highest) for Tampa Bay to get the #1 pick in 2023? I don't remember what odds the Bears had before the start of last season but IIRC their O/U was 6 with 4 or 5 teams below that?

That seems about right. Cards are obviously in pole position with their pick and Texans but I just think Kyler is too good a QB. So maybe they would need to make a decision to sit him when he becomes available. Which makes some sense but still involves the owner burning a huge $$ amount

lol at passing on Caleb or Maye to keep Kyler

it does feel like moving on from Kyler is the most likely scenario in the offseason

If they do a pre June 1 trade, then they'd have a $45m dead cap hit. Which is huge but...Kyler's 2024 cap hit is $52m and so they'd actually be saving almost $7m.

Given the #1 pick will likely have a $9m ish cap hit, they can eat that dead cap charge and still be basically cap neutral at the QB position while hopefully upgrading...if not in yr 1, then certainly moving forward

That's what everyone is saying. They probably have to decide on that before the new league year starts next March because at that point $30mil of his 2025 salary will be guaranteed. $35mil for 2024 are guaranteed anyway.

Yep. I think it’s day 4 of the league year or Sth but you’d imagine that the deal would be done before then anyway.

Tiny chance I suppose that a team might trade for him before the trade deadline which is 31st Oct if the Cards decide not to play him despite him being healthy, but it would require an unlikely sequence of events on the part of the other team as well

we'll need to be smart about how we structure those points. If we put most of them into a bonus we can pro-rate them over multiple years. That's going to make it more affordable but will mean it's harder to cut me moving forward

I recently upgraded to a 4k OLED TV and was very disappointed to learn that NFL games aren't broadcast in 4k until playoff time for the most part. Also, since CBS does zero 4k games, the Superb Owl won't be in 4k this year. Never really thought about it until I watched the Notre Dame/Navy game this weekend in 4k. Pretty awesome (picture, not the actual game).

Do they really do 4k or is it just upscaled?

I've recently wondered about 4k for sports and found this video:

Cards choosing between Joshua Dobbs and …Clayton Tune for their starting QB!

Colt McCoy cut, presumably because he may have completed a few too many passes this year and destroyed their chances of 0-17. Hence we’ll just trade for and then start a guy who was about to be cut by the Browns and doesn’t know their Offense

I imagine their GM has already started getting a woody about having the #1 and 2 picks in a much hyped 2QB draft. Getting their top choice and then 3 1st rounders for trading out of 2 would be quite the platform to build off

You wanna pair Caleb with Marvin Harrison Jr.

That's how you build a Dynasty!

He was whatever as **** during his rookie deal and now he’s signed to a crippling extension he’ll never be worth. Other picks set you back a couple years, this sets you back a decade
Just sayin

I know the plan is to tank for Caleb but wtf are you doing with all this dead money. Nobody’s trading for this dipshit who needed a homework clause

I reckon that would be tempting. But dropping down a few spots and picking up a couple of extra blue chippers would have to be the go I’d think?
