Lawrence probably will never be as good as he was billed to be but I wouldn’t go so far as to call him a bust

The Jets vs. Chiefs SNF was the highest rated Sunday night TV broadcast since the Super Bowl and had the biggest streaming numbers for a SNF game in history. Not totally sure how big of an impact the Jets had on that though.

I think Trevor has been really good considering the circumstances, and he continues to improve. This is basically year 2 for him because lolUrb. The hate is weird, but I guess it comes with the territory when he was billed as an all-time great prospect.

When we look back on Trevor's career, how many #1 picks this century do you think we'd take over him? Stafford and Joey B?

Vick was quite good, but dog fighting and all.

Peak Cam was great, but it didn't last long.

Luck had his moments, but he really didn't win much and retired early.

Eli won 2 super bowls, but Trevor is better than Eli.

And then we get into other positions like T and DE, and a franchise QB is always going to be more valuable than them.

And then you have the really bad picks like David Carr, JaMarcus, Bradford, Jameis, Baker, etc.

Trevor could be killed by a falling piano tomorrow.

I mean, I certainly can’t argue with that. Life is uncertain.

As much as it seems like I was hating on Purdy earlier, I do think he's a really good QB.

In a way, TLaw kind of disproves the notion that it's all about the skill players. He has a solid supporting cast, but I don't think he's currently a top 5 QB.

Dom really worked his magic, anti Bills sentiment has really taken root here. They are still a very good team. Meanwhile I acknowledge I have a bias to expect the Lions to fall on their face after so many years of ineptitude.

Not sure which game it was from...

Ref talking to Mike McDaniel before the game: If you need to talk to me just let the sideline official know and I'll come over.

Mike: Phenomenal...I'm looking for friendship.

Last week vs Buffalo.

They also acknowledge they couldn't do the other guys job and McDaniel says something like "so we both picked the right profession".

The top 5 QB bar is a high one, especially right now. I'd say he's ascending and borderline top 10.

Something like

Pat
Joe
Jalen
Josh
Herbert
Tua
Lamar
Purdy
Stafford
Trevor?

And then you also have the guys like Deshaun, Dak, Cousins, Kyler, Geno, Carr, Goff, etc. to follow. Trevor is a top half of the league QB with plenty of room to improve.

Definitely not Dak. My follow list was in no particular order.

I'd put Cousins and Goff ahead right now.

I just think if a guy is drafted #1 and touted as a generational talent that at same point he should be a definite top 5 at his position. I agree the upside is there so maybe it's a bit too early to call him a bust.

yeah Goff def needs to be in any current top 10 QB list

I would put a few question marks next to Burrow. He's had one good game this season. And even in that one, he didn't look like a top 5 QB.

Yeah, I’d have him after Tua on that list

dont wanna go too far reading into this maybe the Tua/Purdy (even Hurts/Burrow perhaps to a degree) emergence is more about we're coming into an era where you can create elite, top tier offenses without having an elite top tier QB?

you haven't seen a ton of that in the modern era and even when you have, it hasn't really been sustainable ('15 Panthers, '16 Falcons, '17 Eagles, '18 Rams, '19 Ravens but their QB's were playing at a MVP level)

most of the best offenses that lasted more than a year were just brady/manning/rodgers/brees/mahomes/allen produced

with so many weapons now and coaching getting better and better at using them, maybe these guys are just more valuable now

The 2019 Jimmy G 49ers were one 3rd&15 away from winning a SB.

year to date rookie grades from PFF

below average year to this point although Jalen Carter is clearly a total stud.

Cousins has arguably the best receiver in the game, a first round rookie, a top 5 TE to throw to, and a coach who wants to throw the **** out of the ball. Captain Kirk doesn’t really belong in the top 10 as a historic non-primetime regular season QB. Let’s see what he looks like without JJ.

Goff has one of the best o lines and run offenses in the league.

Also, Trevor is 24, not 30. This is his second real season. You act like he’s halfway through his second contract and still hasn’t gotten there.

Meh. The Lions have made the most of him, but let’s not forget McVay sold the farm to get out of him. He still has limitations.

I’m not knocking a guy who has clearly been playing injured and has been elite up until that happened. It’d be another thing if he had been healthy to start the year with similar results.

There are some signs he might finally be getting healthy.

Without putting too much thought and in no particular order top 10 qbs would be….

Kermit
Sherbert
Jawsh
Esiason
Tua
Lamar
Throw Rogan
Hurts

Don’t think I realized how thin it is….

Lawrence
Bork?

Feels insane calling Bork a top 10 qb but for the life of me I can’t think of anyone else who belongs there
