I’m watching this Falcons preseason game against the Steelers. I wish I hadn’t.

24-0 at half, utterly dominated in all three phases, ESPECIALLLY on both lines. This looks like a college team playing a high school team.

I don't know how anyone watches preseason games and takes anything from it other than where certain players might actually be on the depth chart.

Only preseason I watched was the MNF game in the 4th quarte since the Ravens had their streak going and it turned out to actually be an entertaining 4th quarter.

Preseason 99% of the time is unwatchable and even more so since they only play 3 games, where the 3rd game at least had a quarter that could be compelling like when Romo got hurt and Dak went against the LOB Seahawks.

Well... If you put a few shekels on the game, it gives you a rooting interest. But it is the preseason, so I try to limit my bets to the first half. Last night was PIT -4/1st half and over 20. Once those covered, for no apparent reason, I still watched the rest of the game because it was on.

Same goes for any spare to fair college or NFL regular season game. I'm NOT trying to make a living. I'm making a game I would ordinarily have little to no interest in, suddenly interesting to watch, because I put 20 bucks on it and it's on TV.

If I'm not going to watch the game these days I generally don't bet on them. Exception being NFL noon/3 o'clock games in my time zone that I can keep up with on Red Zone. Having a few fantasy football teams doesn't hurt either.

I don't watch preseason games but read up on the takeaways for teams that I'm interested in. There's certainly valuable information for fans and also fantasy players. For example of relevance to Chiefs fans is that contrary to what Andy Reid usually does with rookie WRs (like 2nd rounder Skyy Moore last season), Rashee Rice seems to have access to a way bigger part of the playbook, surprisingly lined up in the slot 2/3 of the time and has even been tasked with run blocking. That suggests he might see a decent amount of play time early on instead of being used as a gadget player like Moore last season or Toney after they traded for him. That might also interest people for their fantasy drafts and he might make a decent number of teams as a late round pick.

roughly what % of the time does that whole trade a million picks to draft a qb in the top-5 thing even work? seems to fail spectacularly way more often than it works idk. and then sometimes you just sit at ~15 and get a mahomes/allen/etc anyway
