Those picks are a sunk cost now, and they’re never coming back. It really does appear that Bork gives you the best chance to win in 2023.
Man I don’t ****ing know
I was beating the drum all last year during his run that Bork firmly entrenched himself as the franchise qb. It wasn’t cuz of talent, it was just observation of how Kyle called plays with him under center actually trusting the qb unlike anything we’ve seen from Womp or Lance
The trade for Lance was a perfect storm of terrible ideas
1. The goal was to flip the pick for Rodgers, not keep it
2. Failing that the goal was to take Mac
3. Realizing they gave up 3 years of equity to pick a guy they coulda gotten easily if they did nothing they took a guy whose career was derailed by a pandemic
4. You’re a Super Bowl contender who can’t afford to give a project reps
Lance is a modern day Tannehill. A team will get him cheap cuz the Niners have less than no leverage and will probably let him go for a conditional pick because it costs them more to cut him. If a team like atlanta or tampa or even Washington picks him up and develops him they may have a Diamond in the rough
If Bork is that dude I couldn’t care less and I wish him well. If this is just Kyle deciding a slightly mobile under center pocket passer is all he needs (as it seems to be if he decided Darnold > Lance) then I’m bracing myself for the inevitable outcome of Cousins signing here and me having a massive mad and sad
