Agree with newguy, there's no permutation where Flacco is any sort of long or even medium-term starter. Will someone give him a bridge year deal to paste together 4-6 wins somewhere, eventually benching him after 15 games? Sure.

Flacco at best is a transitional qb for say Washington if they trade up for Caleb or some other situation where a qb is being developed

Watson pulled the biggest scam we have ever seen and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a situation where if the browns do well enough they keep flacco around for 1 year to play over watson. Like let’s say purely for the sake of argument flacco leads literally the ****ing browns to the Super Bowl. In what scenario do you keep him to backup a clearly indifferent watson? And in what scenario do you just say well thanks now bye?

if you're still answering questions needle, what are a backup quarterback's responsibilities? in meetings, at practice, on the sideline during games, etc? other than being around and ready to go in if needed

For backup qb at the nfl level from what I've seen the past year it's a lot of working with the defense and working with the DC on what is working for them in practice vs 1st defense. Maybe 5 to 10% of reps in practice. And that number is going to be very situational. Like I'd imagine Vegas reps are very different from Buffalo.

Obviously working with the starter in qb film and meetings as well.
