To my knowledge zero (or very, very few) elite athletes died or were seriously hurt by covid. I can't think of one NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, NHL, La Liga, Premier League, Seria A, Ligue 1, the bundesliga or PGA player that died or was seriously hurt by covid. I believe those are the 10 most popular sport leagues in the world + the PGA and they represent 250 teams so we are likely talking about 10k-15k elite athletes.

Let's be honest, if covid was going to seriously hurt anyone in those leagues it would have been John Daly - he should have taken covid seriously.
