Carlos Rodon just had the worst start of a Yankees pitcher in history and potentially one of the worst starts in MLB history. 8ER without recording an out.

I remember Dylan Bundy allowed 7ER without an out a couple of years ago including 4HR, also against the Royals. When was the last time someone allowed more than that?

Bundy out of the league already. He was supposed to be a big player. Can't ever count on it.

kinda a lesser Ben McDonald. there was so much hype for Ben

it's a pretty cool coincidence that both houston and arizona/ seattle and tejas play these last series

I have 10$ on az and bmore going to the series for 1,750.00ish dbags trying to f me

Bellinger and the entire dbags roster have forgotten how to hit, and Miami might sneak in. they won their past 2 games, down 1 - 0 in the 9th and 3 - 0 in the 8th

Yeah, super freaky like Davey Johnson's 43 in 1973. His season totals were 7-10-9-7-10-18-5-43-15. (The 43 was his first year in Fulton County, he slugged over .600 at home that year with a career slugging of barely .400. That park factor was also a big factor in Aaron, who was my favorite player, catching Ruth I always thought, he dueled Mays to catch Babe and surpassed Mays in the chase sometime in the late '60's, my brother's favorite was Mays, halcyon times, Aaron hit 40 that year in under 400 AB's, slugging nearly .700 at home, and in his 7 or 8 years in that park kept averaging around 40 as he approached age 40).

Another good case: Yelich. Hit 44 one year missing over a month. His relatively full season totals: 9-7-21-18-36-44-9-14-19.

Arizona playing the Yankees, White Sox, and Astros to end the season is pretty dumb. That said, it's going to be fun to make the playoffs for the first time since 2017. And Gallen\Kelly at the top of the rotation give us a chance to beat anyone. Tonight was my 59th game of the year. You're welcome for the lack of pictures.

Oh what might have been with Miggy had he had late production. His last productive season was age 33. He was positioned then, particularly in RBIs and doubles, to do something like into the top 5 or better. I think he's 13th all-time now in both of those. With a triple crown and back-to-back MVP's. When you pass Aaron in almost any hitting stat in your last weekend, that's well played and then some. Won it all his rookie year, wow didn't even realize he was on that team, and never made it back to WS. He hit well in the post-season in that rookie year until the Series, when he slumped against the Yankee staff. He did hit a 2-run homer in the series turning game 4 win, 4-3 game, I hope it was a game-winner. What a thing for a practical teenager!

3 teams from the NL East made the postseason.

The Mets aren’t one of them

No more play in games. Just tie breakers. 12 team field is set.

Zack Greinke got the win today, doubling his season total.

In two seasons back in KC he won a total of 6 games in over 50 starts. Brutal.

wildcard matchups all starting Tuesday

Texas @ Tampa Bay

Toronto @ Minnesota

Miami @ Philadelphia

Arizona @ Milwaukee

I think the Texas magic number to clinch the AL West was 2 going into Thursday. man that's brutal.

also of note we don't get the resumption of that suspended Marlins-Mets game Monday morning to play 4 outs. hooray tiebreakers.

My stat watches were brutal:

1. Freeman's doubles chase of 60 ends at 59.
2. Acuna's runs scored chase of 150 ends at 149.
3. Olson's chase of 55 (only integer between 0-66 never done) ends at 54.

All one short.

Meanwhile, on the plus side, Schwarber did become the first player ever to hit 40+ homers while hitting under .200 (I think).

Texas probably ticked they are even playing the 1st series, and even worse...... that they are going to Tampa instead of Minnesota.

It was funny watching the Jays today when the vibe was that the Jays did not want a win that would (so it seemed ) send them to Tampa. They were not saying it outright, but everyone knew the Jays were hoping for a loss...

Tough call... Play a 99 win Tampa who played an AL East schedule, or play Minnesota with 87 wins on an AL Central schedule.......

There are no guarantees but I am sure the Jays are pretty happy playing the Twins..

Bobby Witt was caught stealing Saturday. Then later he got a lead-off walk, and just stayed at 1st despite lots of opportunity, with Salvador ultimately flying out on a 3-2 count. Then next dude gidp

30 homer, 49 steal season
